I think another idea for BB to make money is perhaps a sponsor? Do you guys think it's a realistic possibility?

Yeah that's true 50k users is a decent size but probably not enough to attract big company sponsors. But I do wonder if BB has attempted to get some decent sized or local sponsors for the game. It would help them with the money.

Don't worry. the game will not be shut down anytime soon.

Rates from ads drop constitently, so you need to sell more ads to maintain the same income level every year - which is very hard. You cannot expect the same CPM/CPC values as you could 3 years ago. We actually don't use Google Adsense everywhere - we do sometimes sell targeted ads in some countries and/or for some languages. It's been hard to get lots of these targeted ads buyers though, but also because we probably lacked the competencies to do this well.

If anyone knows some ways how to raise that ad income through there contacts and such, of course we would be very happy to discuss it.

Great response! Surely out of the 50,000 players there is one that works in marketing or advertising that can help us out in exchange for supporter for life, the right to rename his next draft pick 10101100111 and a free copy of Charles's next astronomy paper.

I'm not sure if you'd want the latter. The few times I ended up discussing Charles field of knowledge with Charles left me flabbergasted with a big headache and lots of stuff (& words I've never heard of) to think about haha.

I agree. My wife has a PHD in solid state physics and as an English teacher she asked me to check her thesis. Typically there was a sentence or two then ten pages of maths. It melted my brain.
