Hitting two crucial treys in overtime, newly acquired Calvert Porter saved the day for Jeorgians. With the team down by one with 14 seconds to go, Porter calmly sank the winning three-pointer with Vladimir Grujin right in his face. he has only shot 1 three pointer, actually missing it, during the regulation but suddenly caught fire from beyond the arc during the overtime period. Also worthy of honorable mention are usual reliables Grandin and Solarta contributing 27 & 21 respectively.

Reporter: Calvert, what were you thinking during that shot?!
Porter: Nothing, I just wanted to do the right play. Coach gave the play to me, swerte lang din pumasok. Actually the whole game I was focused on getting inside eh nung pumasok yung unang tres nung OT i started to feel good with my outside shot. New Platoon Upsets Death or Glory!

The PLATOON INVASION continues as New Platoon give the first loss to the top team of the Great 8, 90-76.

New Platoon is spear headed by the trio of 21 points from Julien " THE ALIEN" Laurent, Ayhan "BAGYONG HAIYAN" Belezoglu and Albert " THE CAPTIVATING" Capdevilla.

With this win, Platoon now has the bragging rights of giving the first loss to the last 2 undefeated teams and defeating the top three teams of the Big 8 and the top team of the Great 8.

Jeorgians handicapped after Stepanov injury

"We won the Cup game but we lost our man Stepanov" said Pim Blank after leading the reserves to a cruising victory over their lower league counterparts. Coach Jeorge also said, "We could have avoided this if I havn't decided to have him dressed for this game. But I know Alex is a tough guy, he'll be over that injury in no time. Too bad, since the team have been grooming up for the next week where we will face the top team from the opposite conference. Hopefully, the other guys would step up.

With its torrid shooting from the outside, Jeorgians was able to buck the absence of top bigman Alex Stepanov to deal the Great 8 leader Dog only its second loss for the season.

Porter: Swerte lang maaga tayong uminit ngaun, kailangan din mag step-up dahil medyo malaki ang nawala samin ng ma-injure si pareng Steph..buti nalang gumana ang shooting natin ngaun. i also give it to my teammates for stepping up.. di lang naman ako 'to, buong team ang nagsikap para sa panalo na 'to.

Coach Jeorge: Actually di na ko nagulat sa performance ni CP, alam nya na kung ano ang gagawin sa mga ganitong sitwasyon. Ang gusto ko tlaga i-acknowledge ay ang performance ni Tapiador. Naisip ng coaching staff na bigyan sya ng pagkakataon na ipakita ang kakayahan nya at di nya naman kami binigo. He really stepped up. Nakipag basagan talaga sya ng mukha sa ilalim kaya naman tuwang tuwa kami sa performance nya. Madalas natatabunan ng ibang teammates nya ang performance nya off the bench kaya sana eh pagpatuloy nya lang ang pinapakita nyang hardwork.
