You know what would make this league more exciting? Elite USNT players. And no, I'm not talking about those primary stacked turds. If someone could go out and acquire both Farnsworth and Robertson -- those type of flashy moves draw attention.

Oroko, save up some money and get it done. Bliss + Farnsworth + Robertson. . .I'd watch that.

I have such a lack of persuasiveness, that I'm certain that I could only convince their current owners to sell by offering at least $20M each.

And I would get outbid by some D.IV team in China.

You guys got me curious. The highest gate receipt that I can see from last season was $578,530. Maybe I can afford those guys, if I actually start winning...

Well, the highest gate receipt so far this season is $584,692, but winning has absolutely nothing to do with it. Although it (or lack thereof) will likely be the reason those receipts won't be sustained.

That is forty thousand more than my highest gate recite and I've won three double championships in a row. As of now, I've just added two thousand lower tier seats -- and I wouldn't mind adding five thousand more.

While not very realistic, from a game perspective the early season attendance boost for promoted teams makes sense. It's supposed to help them retool their team to be able to compete at the new level. Unfortunately in today's market, I don't know that it helps that much, especially at this level. Then again, my lack of time to search the TL and engage in bidding wars is probably an even bigger obstacle.

Be interesting to see how much my receipts drop tonight, after an 0-3 start.

I believe the promotion boost lasts until the first midseason ticket price update.

Also Bello getting hurt is doing me no favors.

Pretty lucky for me. He's almost definitely going to be back tomorrow but I'm ok not having to face him tonight especially given that it was reported as a 1 week injury 10 days ago.

Yeah I'm looking at an 0-5 opening.... Not a ton of fun but I'll live.

I think so too, and perhaps still has some lesser impact until the second ticket price update, but attendance is still impacted by the other factors so I'm not expecting to get as much tonight as I did in my opener. I'm just not sure how much the promotion bonus will be able to counteract the other factors for the first part of the season. And obviously I'll need to make some serious pricing adjustments when the time comes.

This is true...I doubt you see much difference at all tonight, and like you said, there won't even be much of a dropoff in the 2nd trimester of games. Also, remember, a few seasons back they changed the formula so that it doesn't count as heavily for just your last road game, now it uses an average of your past few games to determine your next home games attendance.

Also, on a side note, the schedule makers were kind to you giving you 4/7 games at home to start the season while the promotion bonus it at its maximum effect ;)

Yeah, but if you lose all your games, as I'm currently doing, the fact that they improved the formula to not count just the previous game so heavily doesn't help much. lol.

I did like that when I saw it. Wasn't quite as thrilled when I realized that I have three weeks without a home game though. It all evens out in the end, of course, and I'll have two weeks with two home games, but I prefer the more balanced schedules than the ones with increased highs and lows.

Right now, I'm most happy about the fact that there are two actively competing tankers. With Anteaters and Upsyndrome actively trying to get the #1 pick and large negative PD, I may not have to worry about being able to make the relegation series. Winning it of course is still looking like a big problem.
