How in the world does better players = less growth? This isnt opposite day is it?

I think he is referring to with the players having higher salaries from being better players, it will siphon more $ out of the players' accounts, that they could otherwise invest into building up their arena, which has more benefit, than winning games sooner, or having better players quicker. I think.

There could be some other reasons for his saying that as well.

But, if that's the case, maybe a short "tutorial" could be added for new managers, explaining stuff like the transfer market, arena building, staff acquisition, etc.

Maybe it would be interesting too to have a bigger age range in draftees i mean 17-20 would be perfect with the same logic 17 yo players being less play ready than 18 , and 20 with maximum caracteristics at 9 or 10 could really become the go to guy in small clubs

I like the concept of having 1 guy, every so many drafts "come out of nowhere".

like a 25 year old, capped, PAS/SS guy.

This would serve as the guy who maybe was in prison, or in the military, or had to work to support the kids he had when he was 13,14, whatever, and now they're old enough where he can re-focus on the career he wasn't able to pursue when he was younger, but he always had the talent to do.

I don't have any examples FOR basketball... but Nate Robinson tried to go NFL after NBA. Brandon Weeden NFL after MLB. Some athletes played multiple pro sports. etc.

This would account for "those" guys. Just randomly very periodically. 1 25 year old, capped player mixed in with all the kids.

I admit, I was watching He Got Game recently again.

Just make a pool with 150 draftees or so. Put in 4/5 pot players.. Still 3 rounds. Players who did not get picked dont become pro.

This way, when picking earlier, you get a real chance to draft a franchise-player. And picking middle also get a better chance and more fun in the draft. It wont be guaranteed, bc you have to scout more players, but with a good investment in draftpoints and longterm planning it will make it possible to draft the player you want to carry your franchise..

I know this was posted a while ago but I think this is a really good suggestion and makes the game more realistic. This will encourage teams to invest in the draft to find high potential players and would also encourage more train and development since there will be more high potential players. Right now I don't invest in the draft at all because I know I will not get a player worth training and when I have tried in the past the only time I got a player worth drafting was when my team sucked, back when I first started playing. PLEASE, PLEASE MAKE THE DRAFT BETTER!!!!!

I think we should look at some kind of automatic development. Like when a young player gets some minutes in competitive games he automatically improves in certain areas. Learning by doing.

Right now a player that plays a few seasons becomes worse (stamina drop) and does not learn anything. You can't tell me that any job in the world would not lead to some improvement in that field after year long practise.

On top of that training would even speed up things. Faster training is definitely something that has to find its way into the game. Until a few seasons ago the free agents covered that up.

Actually it may be a good idea to have less shitty players with shit potential in the draft in benefit of good players of around 22 years with low potential. The type of player scouted as "can contribute now but has no upside". The likes of Buddy Hield or Frank Kaminsky. On the other hand it would be a bit tricky to implement and it could mess up the whole draft and the transfer market.
