Isn't the academys all about richer teams molding "draft players" to suit their needs. I don't see how anything good can come out of this. Academys actually guarantee you a good pick if you put money into it. So basically, I can win the league, put money in the academy (no investment in the draft ofcourse) and get a better 18yo than a team that relegates?
I like that the draft is a unpredictable. TL is flooded with great talent every season and great 18yo's are not expencive either. You don't need a perfect trainee, the sooner people get that, the better. You can cap a pot4 trainee with decent starting skills in 1-1,5(max) season(s) with lvl5 trainer. Pot7 player capped is already a solid starter in divI (1568 teams out of ~50k). Superstar is only needed, if you plan on improving the player, while playing in the top division. How many managers actually train their player to NT from scratch? You can prolly do it in a small country, but not in a competitive country.
I've seen great estonian draftees go for 10-50k, which are over 50sp (no ft or st included) and have atleast pot7. What else do you need?

Academys will not change BB to suddenly become a daily/hourly game. You will set the academy parameters and will see what happens in a week. How is that different than waiting for training on friday?
I just don't think guaranteed draftees/trainees with extra merc bonus is a step in a right direction.

if there oriantate on the youth academy in hattrick, you don't get perfect trainee out of it(or at least there wouldn't be ton of them). But you have more impact on the talent you aquire.

You are planning to do a lot shooting training on your guard next season, you can cancel it at your top prospect and concentrate first on other things.

I agree with you.

Soccer is so boring. Honestly who enjoys that... I can play it, but I will not watch it. It's something you let run at the backround while drinking in the pub and only look when a goal happens. Such a sucky game, as everyone in FIFA is afraid of electronics. Let's not accept goals, let teams get to WC with obvious hand play scores etc. But that's beside the point. All I have heard is, that it's train one skill game (playmaking) or whatever it was called.

That's exactly why I think this should never be. Teams can't mold the draft prospects for their exact need. Everyone knowing the skills of the draftees before picking. No surprises, no steals etc. It would make the drafting process more stable (knowing what you get for your money) but a lot more boring, than it is now. I would rather change the guaranteed picking order, but that would prolly need a lot of resources to create all those lotterys.

I don't know if that's the way. But I dislike being last in the draft every year...

I still got more than 100 draftpoints left, but it isn't worth using them.
