Well, I'm making some Money every week. And have nothing worth spending it on .. so I hope I'll be able to keep them for a lot of seasons to come. And at one point or another I'll probably promote without trying if they become anywhere near NT-material. Which would mean even MORE money coming my way. Quite funny, my Utopian Team doesn't need the money and gets more than is needed - and my german team is always in debt

The Micro-Nation Merger

what do you guys think?
ouch it hurts... especially being stabbed with this by a Canadian BB... hahaha

but it was something that I think would be faced eventually.
I'd like to ask Perpete. How do you like managing the Korean NT even tho it has been a losing battle, season after season?

Although we have been a very small community here. Only 3 active members. I really do feel that we're gonna rise from the bottom. Especially with the help from all around from outside managers. Wendell, Morwood, our 3 quiet but loyal Korean managers, georgegervin (before he went inactive), and the list goes on.

We haven't won much, but I think we set mini goals for ourselves and achieving them little by little has really brought our little group together. I think staying as we are, we really have nothing to lose, and can only move up from here. But indeed. Us not getting new managers and new teams really hurts us in drafting new players. But i think we have made the most of our limited talent. Even star potential players have a chance at U21... but maybe not so much for the NT... so what do you think Perpete?

and also for our Hanguk Div I. Yes, I can see that only battling it out between the 3 of you every season kinda sucks. So I feel for you there too, and hope there's a medium where they can give you guys more teams to play against instead of bots every game.

If you're reading this... chime in... and we'll come to a consensus and a united front and stick it to that drastic Philosopher Kings BB! =)

It's quite interesting that there isn't a post on the forums here with information about the Micro-Nation merging ... but fortunately as an LA I've already had the pleasure to read it a couple of days ago.

Even though I'm not directly affected by those suggestions, indirectly, I definitely am. On my main team I'm trying to "stay alive" in my league and have a lot of fun on the forums with my league colleagues. But my utopian team (that I even renamed after acquiring those 3 Korean players) definitely exists only for training purposes. I could join the german community and train a couple of german players for the u21 or even NT ... but I kind of like working with you guys and trying to make the best out of our limited resources for the future of the Korean NT. So merging Korea with another nation and losing the NTs in the process, that would be a major blow to my motivation for playing this game. So the second solution where the teams get merged into bigger leagues with more competitiveness but the NTs stay the same - that would be quite nice, I guess. I don't know about the Korean managers - probably playing bots every other day is not very satisfying. But I'd be very sad to see my korean trainees change nationality ...

I hope they'll not make a rash decision - but asking the communities is quite a good way to avoid too many complaints and maybe finding a good consensus.

And hopefully some (or all) of the korean managers will make their opinions public ... that would be greatly appreciated

I understand both sides of the story... and ultimately I just want what's best for the existing Korean managers to keep it fun for them. With only 3 of them left, I really don't want to lose any more of them.

I hear ya Wendell. Training is a big part of the game for me. Often times it means more to me then the results of my league or my tournament. Of course I can train Canadian rookies, but i feel i'm contributing so much more in helping the Korean community.

We previously had a manager named Johnny.. and he seemed really enthusiastic about the game... I think he was team name "upper dublin".. He has since disappeared, but I recall him saying that he was talking to the BBs and they were open to him moviing to the USA grid. which is good for him. I see that playing bots isn't fun. So hopefully they could come to a solution to keep it entertaining for our guys.

whatever the result is, lets make the best of this run we have this season!!! woot woot!! big game monday! I'll try to be there to report live! =)

IMPORTANT GAME DAY

UAE U21 116 - 119 Hanguk U21

So they finally decided to play an offense other than Push the Ball... we got half burned for it from my wrong GDP. And it looks like it's biting us in our rear ends. 1st Quarter has been a freakshow. Almost every shot has gone in on both ends. Their inside offense has been unstoppable. They currently lead after 1. 36-31. Yoon Hoon Lim, our leading prospect has been relatively quiet and really needs to step it up next quarter.

Half way through the 2nd quarter. That's 4th foul by Yoon Hoon Lim. This might spell trouble for us. We take the lead to this quarter!! 17-19 after Sung Ryong Kim hits a clutch shot. We're still behind 53-50 at the half. Time for a big pep talk in the locker room and wake these boys up!!

5 mins left in the 3rd... we have a tied game! 68-68. It's been a back and forth quarter... really hope this is when we take charge and take over!

I get to work and alleluia! we pulled it out! We're going to the 2nd round!!!!
!!!
