OK, so basically the game is in the same state as most of other online managerial games are in (very few actually survived that kind of outcome - I can only think of 2 that kind of dodged that bullet and only one is what I am certain of)

Can't really say that I am surprised, even though I wish the reality would have been different. I guess that's the curse of "marathon" (to quote one user from this thread) games that open up the wrong doors (most of the times is the perverse incentive brought by National Teams "needing" to be competitive and the slow pace of players development, a reality that already slapped me hard before I even got to pick up my shield). However, farm teams (more of a solution for speeding up the game I guess...not that I agree with) I can sort of bear with...for as long as I don't see and look beyond my own team and interests. It's the financial illicit gains that bother me the most and kind of kill the appeal of a game for me (which kind of also makes sense why finances are being brought up as an important element of the game and constantly get highlighted as the main focus).

I don't plan on cheating so I am not sure I need to know or figure out the tactics of going around the system and neither do I plan on watching paint dry for 6months before I can do anything in the game, so now that I know what to look for, I'll see how bad it is and decide on whether to give it a go or not.

But cheers for the answer. It pretty much told me what I needed to know

Again, using his own words:
most people give advice cuz they want to not cuz they can or should

:)

In my country I don't know a manager doing stuff described above. But I know several managers who do not want to compete but want to train players. Because it's more fun for them then competing.

I don't say BB is Paradise on Earth with honest users only. But the state described by WolphWolph is purely dystopic and I don't agree with that.

And what season(s) are you talking about? And about how many cheating users?

From your posts it seems EVEYBODY in EVERY country is a cheater.

I can't speak for other countries, but a normal way of doing this with 1 team is going into rebuilding mode, drop down a league to get a good draft position and to start training new players and not compete at the highest level and save money. Then when the trained players get better, use the saved money to buy some good players to compete for a number of seasons.

By doing this you're able to legally compete at the highest level, I know (38316) did it this way and is currently ranked #6 worldwide. So even though it might happen, it does not limit you as a fairplay manager.

I actually experienced it in other games on a scale that one doesn't even dare to imagine, so it is fairly easier to believe that it is done than it is to believe that it isn't done

There were users with 120+ accounts (4 of them officially accused, weirdly from 4 different countries - I can only imagine how many more, the small fish, got away)

I do agree though, that after a certain (extended) period of time, training players for either personal glory or a NT becomes realistically more fun than actually fiddling around with the rest of the game mechanics. But that period is of 5-6+ years of already playing the game and checking most objectives off the list. I am doing it in other games as well, but would have never done it to begin with (or for the first 4-5 years of game play)

I am kind of impressed with how under and over the rug this topic is though

Lot of people aren't capable to reach at least minor number of objectives at all and focus on training instead. This can come earlier then after 5-6 yrs of playing.

You say 10 and you also say you made up this number. I would like to look on this on my own. How can those teams be recognized? Low division and positive transfer balance? Selling expensive players to high div competetive teams? I was NT manager for a while and communicated with lots of managers on multiple platforms. I would like to know if someone made fool of me.
