now his salary is 65k.....

Just curious - what do level 7 trainers go for on the market right now? Once you figure that out, you will probably find that a 65k salary for a level 7 trainer is quite reasonable.

If you cannot afford the 65k a week, I suggest downgrading your trainer.

Theres only one level 7 on the market now, already with a bid of 7mil.

You need to work out roughly how much downgrading will cost as well, a level 6 with 20k salary could cost up to 1mil, so the extra 45k a week you're paying might be a bargain if you have some decent trainees for him to work on.

Roughly 5 million.

Ok, let me crunch some numbers later today. With that price, I suspect that the break even point for a level 7 trainer is long after $70,000 per week.

How fast does a level 7 increase in price? 2.75% per week?

Ok, assuming a weekly increase of 2.75% per week, these are the break even points that I calculated, assuming you are trying to replace your current level 7 with another level 7:

(there was some rounding involved)

Assuming the new trainer has a $30,000 salary

Bonus of new trainer = $5 million, keep current trainer until salary = $173,200
Bonus of new trainer = $4 million, keep current trainer until salary = $155,000
Bonus of new trainer = $2.5 million, keep current trainer until salary = $125,000

Assuming the new trainer has a $20,000 salary

Bonus of new trainer = $5 million, keep current trainer until salary = $132,500
Bonus of new trainer = $4 million, keep current trainer until salary = $117,250
Bonus of new trainer = $2.5 million, keep current trainer until salary = $92,500

Is an extra pop per season (over a level 5 trainer) really worth that much money? And seriously, if you are not a division I team, why would you even bother?

Just looking at it and I think the increase for a level 7 is 2.5% per week, so those numbers will be a bit lower. But not much. However, if anyone is interested I will recalculate them.

First BB is not real life.

Second, a year in BB is only 14 weeks. I could see a different system where you sign trainers for x seasons and their salary goes up every season (like in real life). But in the end, the amount of money going out to trainers would be the same, so your level 7 would still cost you a crazy, unjustified amount.

I personally do not mind the new system. I did not like it at the beginning because I thought I would be constantly looking for a new trainer all the time. However, with prices going up it means you have to keep your current trainer longer, anyways. It is not a big deal to have to look for a new trainer every 3 seasons.
