A level 4 trainer will cost you 1k in sign on bonus with a salary of around 15k. I think you got 4 and 5 confused.

3 is even cheaper but not the best value for money. 4 is ideal

Thank you for the advice. Just a few follow up questions if I may.

As I am going to wait for the draft before deciding on a training program, I guess team training is the way to go until then? I'm thinking of doing a bit of stamina training. Is a Level 4 trainer much superior to a Level 1 for team training as well? I recall the rules said team training was pretty easy for the coaches to set up so just want to check this, as then I don't need to invest in a level 4 until I get my trainee.

I'm also thinking of buying a few cheap players in to compete with since hopefully I will get a decent trainee for free. Will buying in guys and selling some of my not so good players affect team enthusiasm? I think it might annoy my fans a little.

Also does your coach quality affect enthusiasm at all? As in will a Level 4 maintain a higher level of enthusiasm for longer than a Level 1 coach?

The six names for trainer levels are basic, competent, advanced, superior, exceptional, world-renowned. By "Level 4" I meant "superior," since that's the fourth one if you start at the bottom and count up. Is that wrong?

The seven levels are as follows:

*
minimal
basic
competent
advanced
superior
exceptional
world-renowned

You get a "minimal" skill staff member only if you fire your current staff member.

Yes, it is wrong. It is known through the game manual of BuzzerBeater that even minimal counts as a level.

Team training is usually good for 2 game weeks. You can still do normal training. Just be prepared to change to a new trainee once you get your new players from the draft. Team training is a bit different. If you are going to be training FTs/stamina, then your best bet is to not waste money on a trainer at all. A lvl 4 trainer trains the same as lvl 1 trainer for these type of training.

I wouldn't recommend you buying players at this stage. They are all going to be more expensive than usual as teams buy players for playoff runs and they will all go up in age in a few weeks time. You are better off waiting till after the draft. Buying/selling players will NOT affect enthusiasm. It will annoy the fans via the fan survey as they prefer to see constant faces in the team.

Trainer has no effect on enthusiasm whatsoever. You gain enthusiasm by telling the team to take it easy in games and you lose enthusiasm by telling them to crunch time. Gradually enthusiasm will move towards 5 if you constantly play normal.
