Well maybe not have a 3 point shooter but it would be interesting to have some kind of specialities. Perhaps though someone with a say strong jump range and a 3 point speciality would get like a 10% increase in range compared to a normal strong jump range guy. That's the kinda thing i mean really.

I really like this idea that there must be some specialities which would increase one or other skill by maybe 10%-20%... And those specialities would be given just for new drafts ant can`t be changed... that means that also center could be born with "3pointer" speciality , and what I mean thet those specialities would be given by random.

I don't like it, this skill would be implemented just like a talent in a special Skill(you train fast because everytraining gives him more power then an similiar player), but you already have various ways to produce a specialist but you could even train players who could do everything their needs(so the players are different already).

Or perhaps a speciality who make the training faster.

For example a Center with ' Free Throw " speciality should train FT 10% faster.
3 pts shooter, should raise in Range 10% faster.. etc..

that would make more sense, because the specialities give no salary bonus, like in this propose but the idea is pretty similiar.

And i still don't like it ;)

although i like the idea it is too much like HT and will hurt the TL as rmember we all only need to play 5 people then some subs. Everyone would want a 3pt guy a fast guy a stronger C etc...

i would prefer toknow how many skill-ups my trainer is able to generate over the course of a season and then as the manager choose when and where to allocate these to my team....

I don't think specialty is needed in this game.

Specialty will only make the already crazy transfers fee higher, and will isolate alot of good players without specialty.

All these comments are really helpful. I like GM-Narcisse's variation on the idea. I can see it working but i can't see it coming in for a while if ever really. It's only a thought. Could be agood feature though if implemented correctly!

For what it's worth, I don't see any benefit to having player specialties. There are more than enough skills available to simulate any of the specialties mentioned in this thread.
