It can be useful to use as a way to figure out how an opponent plays his players; if he has been on for seasons and a player he has had for a while says draws a paycheck, there is a good chance he never uses that player. And if it is key player or regular starter, you can be prepared to have that player start that game.

Or you can just cut to something more concrete and look at their games/minutes/stats at the bottom of the player page instead. ;)
