5 days in a row is a long time, but in my experience if it sits that long it 'catches up' some to the original projection. I would say, however, that in practice I tend to expect about +2 days on whatever the estimate was.
This is exactly my experience up until now. But this time, it hasn't moved from "8 days" for a week straight.
