I too am considering it, seriously. Especially if the only person who runs is a div IV manager(no offence alloa).

1) Following in the footsteps of Canada's best ever U21 manager

That is definitely something holding me back as well.

2) Time - the U21 program requires a lot of time to track and maintain a solid data base. IF and that is a big IF I was to run I would be looking for assistance with some of the scouting.

Completely agree, you need alot of dedication for this job and I would definitely be looking for help. If I do not end up running Ill definitely try and help the next manager.

Another factor for me is that i am not the most experienced manager, this is just my eighth season and only second in division II, but who knows. Im still deciding.

Well scouting wise it looks like I might try and at least get you guys a head start on the scouting of the 18 year olds this season as I am trying to get that started, plus with scouting I sure hate adding it to the spread sheets. Thank goodness the potential NT'ers is a lot shorter than the potential U21'ers.

I think the biggest thing is not trying to feel like we have to live up to the Mogul because that is no easy task. He's done some amazing things and will be hard to top. But seeing some of the prospects starting salaries and potentials, it looks like we could have some decent players in the next few seasons.

I can definitely help with scouting or whatever is needed

I'm on buzzerbeater almost every day (I get bored in class...). Plus this can show me what possibly needs to be done/how much work is required if I possibly wish to try to be the U21 manager in the future

Edit: Well same as the guy below, around finals (december-ish) I won't be around as much. I only got 2 midterms and it's spread out so those I don't have to worry

To the Candidates:

What are we going to do about all the scouting left to be done? What are we going to do about the lack of community that Canada has around the U21 and NT, and it will probably be worse now that The Mogul is gone?

Scouting wise, for the 18yo right now I could take some of that amd we have had a few managers whether it be here or on the offsite forum say that they would help with the scouting. So after I got the 18yo out of the way id probably be looking for people to take scouting positions, like a scout roster. Some to watch the 18 yo, 19 yo etc. And then try and keep in close contact with the managers of some of the top prospects. Maybe assign some scouts to a couple of players and almost be a mentor to them if they are newer.

Communitiy is a little more difficult. I think we have a decent enough amount of activity from the naismith and div II teams. My div III project would be something that I hope would get some of the div III managers at least onto the BB Canada thread. Creating contests, games etc. Is another idea that I have. The community involvement with the U21 and NT to be honest is abismal and will be one of the biggest issues to tackle for the next U21 manager.
