Sure, both are positive changes, but I don't think they address the problem of unrealistic player movement and tactical naivete. The changes probably have to be bigger than that.

I like the idea of having 'transfer periods' just maybe more often then that. Every other week until a playoff deadline(soon after allstar weekend) and then every week until the new season starts(with these players being imeligible for playoffs)?

Or alternatively you can have a compromise. Enabling buying and selling as per normal and just limit it so that say a week after the all star break, any new transfers in will be ineligible for playoffs.

It keeps the market going throughout the season but at the same time really hurts those teams that want to play the rent a player strategy as they have to hold on to the player for longer.

It doesn't address the fact that this game is all about fooling less knowledgeable managers and climbing the financial ladder, and not at all about actually knowing how to choose and train for tactics that are not LI.

People get bored of and quit this game once the TL becomes more of a chore than a hobby, and the game then requires an unwanted time commitment lest other managers with time on their hands surpass you. Ideally, if you know what you're doing tactically, you could sit back and execute a long-term plan. But in BB, there's no such thing as a long-term plan other than "tank and flip players for profit. This is because, as a rule and without exception, whenever you stand pat, your team loses value.

I've been wondering why the game loses so many old managers and has shrunk since I joined about two years ago, and this is probably one large reason why.

No, they'd change their strategies accordingly just as everyone else would do. Chinese managers run the TL because they've rightly identified it as the best road to BB success. The ridiculousness of the strategy only underscores the need for change.

Actually given how little free time people often have out here I'd imagine the BB community in China would rise drastically if the need to log on so damn much went away :p

I just wanted to bold out the main thing at what you said here.
A say, that is commonly said here.

The problem is that, there are too many eBay gamers here, and they like it this way...

I've suggested due to that an "semi-automatic auction system". I believe that this is that you are looking for.

You are right again.
There are some eBay players that tries to scare the BBs from changing what must be changed.
I believe that it is plain and simple fact that BBs are aware of - some may leave, but the core of users who joins this game will stay much longer, and this community will grow.

Who enters this game is here for BB-managing, which currently is not what this game is all about (and you described it quite well).

So "managing" is the opposite of signing players via transfer list, making economically sound decisions, building up an infrastructure in an effective and profitable way, training and building players by your teams needs and setting up lineups and strategies to get success?

If that´s the case, there´s not much left what your vision of "managing" has to do with either Basketball, NBA or Buzzerbeater. That´s exactly what teams around the world have to do when "managing" franchises.

Actually, setting a Trade Deadline around the All Star Break would most likely lead to player values going even more down afterwards, and that might to plenty teams going bankcrupt, as there is no need at all to sign anyone late in the season.
