yar just go buy a scrubby player for like $1k or $2k - there are heaps for sale.

ive had to do this myself. Im in the finals, and i booked a scrimmage (which i always do just in case i need to manage minutes )... but in the end i really didnt want my starters playing in the scrimmage at all, and some of my bench will clock too many mins, so ive gone out and bought two scrubs for a few thousand dollars.
It means i can manage the gameshape of my 'real' players so much easier, and it only costs me literally $3k in transfer plus salary for the guys which is nothing, another $4k in the end.

Some teams will do this almost all season, buy a scrub for a couple of weeks, then sell him, dependant upon Cup involvement, training, salary costs, injury, training etc etc etc.

BTW; If you scheduled a scrimmage, and for unexpected reasons like injuries or odd minutes count, you have fewer than 5 players available for the scrimmage. Is it preferable to send a BBmail to the other coach to warn him that you won't field 5 players? or in the worst cases that you plan to forfeit the game?

oh definately,

i think if you field less than 4 players (??check this), its an automatic 'walk-off'/forfeit and as a result of this, the training minutes get stuffed up for both yourself AND the other guy.

so its very much a courtesy thing if this is the case, but really, its common courtesy to set a lineup for a scrimmage. Otherwise the game becomes very annoying.

so yer. best to always set at least 5 guys :)

I signed to scrubs for 1000$ each. just in case, one get fouled out.

In 3 seasons, so far I always made a complete lineup for scrimmages, even when I was in minutes troubles, for the sake of courtesy.
And I thought it would be good manner to inform the other guy in the other case.
Now that I'm aware of the possibility to sign very cheap players for those special situations, it will be easier that much easier.
