Maybe because you drafted like 15th or 16th?

so what you are saying is you shouldn't invest in scouting unless you have a top 5 pick?

nop, yo should invest like 10-20k and maybe go for 19 year odl with last picks? cause nobody drafts 19year olds and sometimes they are really good. Sometimes you can get best draftee like 13th pick too, 2 drafts ago my league mate drafted 5k salary mvp with 13th:D and people say 13 isnt a lucky number. he was best draftee that year.

Yea, I drafted 16th I'd say. I finished #1 in my league, and won the championship. I guess I just figured with 15 bot teams in my league, I would get a better player. I got 6th man potential and such.

Again, I'm not bashing the game or sayign anything is wrong with the way it turned out, I completely understand. But I certainly hoped for better.

And before someone looks at my league and says there are more than 3 human controlled teams in the league, please note that 13 of those human controlled teams were added to the league in the last 12 hours.

So theoretically you falled into those 11% staticticaly unlucky people. who got their first 2 draft picks stealed by bots.

And BB thanks you for not bashing them.... ;)

I look at the draft as either a home run or a waste of time depending on how it falls. The only way you are going to get that once in a lifetime player for cheap is to draft him. So for that reason, some seasons, its definitely worth taking a shot. You could either build your entire team around that player or if you sold that player on the market you could really get rich quick.

Other seasons are more like what you described, you would have been better off saving your money and buying a couple of trainees on the market.

When your draft gets posted, look through the 48 players and you will see that there are only a handful at best that are good prospects. And quite possibly nobody that is truly the once in a lifetime guy. But get over it quick, its happened to everyone here at some point.

I'm in the bottom 11 percent of the unlucky people? Hey, I'm moving up in the world :)

Yea, I don't even want to say I was unlucky. Being that I won the championsip and had the best record in the league, I got about what my team should have got with the last overall pick.

But it is a fact in most cases, unless you are guaranteed a very, very early pick, like top three or four pick, you're better off buying your trainees. I just went and turned my scouting points to zero and will keep it that way for the entire S19 season and will buy my trainees next season to see if it doesn't work out better for me. I think it will.

I love the BB game too much to bash it. Plus, how many people you seen bash BB and come out ahead? Not like they will back up and redraft just because I'm bashing them over my injustice. If they will, then heck, I've got some things to say and want to say them to the highest ranking BB person you can find me :)

I was really just hoping to cash in on a stud trainee before I promoted, because as hard as it was to get a decent trainee in Div. 5, I can only imagin how much harder it will be at the higher levels.

A 4 ball, 4 potential player would have been a victory for me in this draft.

Honestly, I guess I didn't do that bad. I got a $4,500 salary 18 y/o with star potential, so he can be a very good player at levels 3 thru 5 the way I see it. But I think he tops out in level 3 and becomes a bench player/scrimmage filler if I ever make it higher than Level 3.

Would this be an accurante statement by me? Or is this $4.500K trainee with star potential not going to be a good player in Div. 3 with proper training, of course.

Here is his skills.........

Weekly salary: $ 4 510

Age: 18
Height: 6'2" / 188 cm

Jump Shot: respectable Jump Range: mediocre
Outside Def.: average Handling: average
Driving: awful Passing: average
Inside Shot: mediocre Inside Def.: average
Rebounding: inept Shot Blocking: average
Stamina: inept Free Throw: average
