The reason your going bankrupt is that you can't afford a player on 194k salary.

YOu should sell him. I would set him for 800k to attract big teams (Aussie's, Lake Marrite Arrows ect.). He can end with 300-500k. But DO Not set it for 2million+. that is a rip off,and wil most likely resulet in 1 more week of bankrupt ness.

You can't afford that center, pure and simple. His salary is probably double what you could afford in a best case scenario for your entire team, in fact.

No way he will sell for 800k. High wage Centres are cheap as anything these days. He only paid 347k for him a month ago.

Exactly.

Put him on the transfer list for like $10 and let it ride...

dude u have a 7-8 record in d5 even with the $194k monster

why do u have all 4k dudes & then 1 x 194k guy?

does that seem balanced 2 u?

i have a 15-0 record in d2 & my c costs 56k

think u may be doing something wrong?

You should match your team to the league that you are playing in and your revenue. In Div. V you can probably get by with a couple of 10k players. This will allow you to save money and build up your fundamentals. List the center at 1000 and hope for the best. Use the money to get someone you can afford. remember that it is probably better to have two $10k guys than one 20k..

I'm relatively new to the game as well, so take some of these suggestions with a grain of salt, but here are some things I'd consider:
- Financially: Sell the star. I agree with everyone else, that it's likely impossible to afford a player that expensive in DV with a new stadium. Unfortunately getting him off your payroll sooner is probably better, so maybe list him for $300k and hope you can fetch $500k for him or so? You'll avoid bankruptcy.
- Before you list him, stop playing him. His game shape is mediocre, and he might fetch a better price if it's respectable+. I know it sucks to think about not playing him, but a better GS might get you more $.
- With the proceeds from his sale, consider both expanding your stadium and purchasing some players of $10-$15k salary that can benefit you for a season or two. You might even wait to pick up those new players until the beginning of next season, after the draft, when there's a much larger supply of players on the transfer list because everyone is reorganizing their teams after the draft. Greater supply, ie cheaper acquisition prices.
- A balanced team - other teams in your league are faring better with a more balanced team of players.
- Looks like you have some decent trainees with Bethea and Redd. Even Mazzea can likely become a ~$10k-ish player even though he's only role player potential. They could be good for you if you're training them. Dane McKay could be a good trainee too, but since he's a C, and your other 3 trainees are PG/SG, it might be hard to focus your training. I've found it easier to train either bigs or smalls during the season, not both.
- Tactics: your C was by far your best player ($194k salary), but you've been using Run and Gun offense. I think an interior focused offense like Look Inside might have yielded better results. Whatever your strategic vision is for your team going forward, try and pick an offensive tactic that suits your personnel well.
- Stadium: Consider decreasing your bleacher tickets from $15 to $10-12 or so. The fans aren't filling the bleachers because the tickets are expensive. Even if you priced them at $10, you should easily be selling 3500 tickets, which would net $35,000 from bleachers alone, which is more than the $20,805 you got from them last game ($15 x 1387). You're also selling out Lower Tier and Courtside, so maybe consider increasing them slightly (maybe $40 and $110). Also, since you're selling out LT and Courtside, consider expanding your stadium there. And also building some Luxury Boxes.
- This season: I'd focus on the future, rather than the present season. It'd be tough to win the division at this point, and even if you did and then promoted, DIV would likely be much tougher. Sitting around 5th in the league isn't so bad. Avoiding relagation games, get a decent draft order in the draft, and plan for winning the division next season.

It seems BuzzerBeater is a wildly complex game that is just as much about fiscal responsibility and planning (training, game shape, enthusiasm, etc) as it is about having the "best" players. Hope your team fares well!!!
