Was Pini saying that it wont work because the old teams have too many advantages and wont share them, just look at Espania division I?

Prepares for this post to be deleted but attempts to keep in by adding...

In Australia we had a formal mentoring system that was very successful for a number of seasons but it was run through Buzzerbeater stats because the information needs to be secret and now that site is dead. It is too hard to do well onsite because you need to be able to discuss the players in detail and most don't want their rivals to see.

I was thinking this would be more of a one on one mentoring through bbmail... no need for anyone else to see what you are talking about.

Canada has one too, but the amount of new users that check the national forums is a very small percentage of he actual amount of new users and whatg Chekreyes is suggesting is that a system is put in place where a list of managers for every country(varying depending on size of country) who are willing to show new managers the ropes for a couple weeks or so before sending them off on their own is created. They would need to be approved by GMs to avoid any inexperienced/bad/trolls to be on the list. Maybe even give them a prefix title like Men-bballin or something. Then they receive automated BBmails when a new user is approved meaning that they are assigned to this new user as that new users mentor and they go off and BBmail that new user and begin the mentoring process. Showing them key threads, sowing them the manager checklist and even answering FAQs. Helping them with the initial stages of their teams and such. It could definitely keep more users interested as they will be guided through the initial overwhelming stage that is the beginning of BB.

Okay thats fair, isn't there an initial BBmail sent from a local game master? Could we include the mentors link in there and let them know that if they have ANY questions or are looking for a mentor, that'd be the place to go?

For me, we absolutely need to have the newbie asking. We can have a more official and integrated program if you want, but they have to ask. I don't want to spam someone to help him. In big countries, there is a lot of newcomers each week. They want help ? No problem. They don't want ? No problem too.

i am not so sure how the welcome messages from us Gm are generated, maybe there is a possibility to link a thread there maybe even nation or at least language specific(i believe every language have a own help forum, where such a thread could make sense).

Those welcome message, already offer some assistence at least in the german version and it doesn't look so automatic, maybe someone can add the english version.

It's not spam, it's just offer help. It happens in a lot of games were it's normal the game sends you messages about news, new functions, special offers etc.

I'm pretty sure the spanish help forum has a low traffic.

I often see managers leaving the game that before leaving they say they didn't know how to advance in the game.

The system would have the purpose to try to help the managers with the aim they don't end leaving the game. If that works, at the end there are more chances the game attracts more supporters
