i don't like it that much, since nationality play also a role on the economical decision. it might be fine when you get a player from bahamas then, you can sell through the guaranteed flag(or not any more), but if you like to keep your drafted player and then get less merchandise in return it would be bad.

Since draft are pretty much exclusiv in the states(or at least known), and there also in "american" sports where the league is the non plus ultra in that area. Not sure if the MLS have a draft, but i doubt, that someone for germany would register for it and i think it is like here it is more a home grown draft and the majority of leagues in buzzerbeater is more unimportant then the MLS. So it more a homegrown draft, there might be even a small percentage with a diffent but a real small percentage.

maybe we can think about it, when player "naturalize" over time at least for merchandise, when they live long enough for example in germany to speak the language and are well known for the fanbase. Then a small percentage of foreign draftee will only cause trouble for the scouts.

That's true, but it's more possible that a bahams player will go in the U21 than an italian... i think that a team with a player in an U21 team will earn more for the merchandise than a team with an italian starter potential... Drafting a Bahams player, you can have more chance to grow a NT player.
