BTW another newbie question. How do I access my scouting reports? The only way I found is through Rules - Draft - Edit draft order which is pretty complicated.

You will see your scouting reports only a few days before the new draft, at the end of the season. The link you have found refers to the past draft.

It is pretty typical for an injury to only be until the end of the game. Sometimes the injury isn't even reported, but your player will be substituted for and not play the rest of the game.

You won't see anything in your scouting reports until the end of the regular season. Also, BB has announced that there will be changes to the draft, but haven't given out details yet. So for now, just set your scouting at a very modest amount $5K/week or $10K/week and you'll be fine.
