others run 8 for training(pretty common), and maybe other 7 players to let 3 people play. This is not really desired from the stretch, and you are risking loosing games with it or at least don't play with full power. So when the fans see that even the team don't take it dead serious, a small punishment is ok which get bigger the more you weaken your team.

The thing is this is more an overhaul of the mood system, then a additional point but i can imagine it to work.

I personally wouldn't do 8, feel if injury then what, plus gameshape etc.

but 9. I have a backup for every player but the trainee, and if the trainee gets hurt, well then, puts you in a spot anyways doesn't it.

there is 2 position training, so it is the same thing and i often play "normal" players 48 minutes for GS reasons. So you can bring up the same argument for 8/7 etc. players. The risk is raising with less players, but in wolph system the punishment would be higher with a higher risk. And it isn't like that there are no fans showing up, when you play 9 player but it forces you as a manager to make a decision - more training or some extra fans? I don't think you are doomed if you make the wrong decision and depending on your situation, so that it becomes more strategic.

I hear you, I also run 7 usually...but is this really good for the game?

It would suck for me, but I7d like to see a game where we havea reason to play to win like a real team, not always tweaky to fit the odd rules of training system (being greedy if you think about it)....

What it might boil down to is teams needing to choose 2 trainees for 48 a week, not 3 and be less rigid in minute management goals of 1 position 48 training. Do you really think fans want to see you play a 18 y/o rookie till he is dog tired while a vet 30yearold sits on teh bench
...cuz the rookie needs 'training' today not tomorrow. (all 48 in one game so its easy for you to manage etc...)....

and if the penalties of a goofy line-up are harsh enough, penalty of losing etc. then farms may become unviable...but I also realize makign teh game harder tocompete and train simultaneously means more motivation for cheaters to cheat, but oh well...I think tis a price worth paying.

Yeah... I wa s being greedy on that, I'll admit it. but in response to the 18 year old vs the vet...
LeBron James or Eric Williams/Kevin Ollie?
Kobe Bryant or... Byron Scott?
Tim Duncan or whoever was with the Admiral?
For every 18 year old you wouldn't want to see over a vet... there's a chance to find 1 you would.
Durant too, I think they shipped Allen to make room for him.

you should think more ingame, we have pretty fast training, and the player doesn't arrive nearly finished at your club like in the NBA.

but when you look at your example, none of those player is playing the whole 48 minutes, so würde Kobe bryant immernoch 40 minuten spielen und dann 8 minuten Scott bei der arbeit beobachten was auch besser fürs team wäre.(hired Translator: ..., Kobe bryant would play 40 minutes and then watch 8 minutes of byron Scott(or better said a 20years younger version of scott))

This is true they only played like 36-42 minutes a game...
but they also played every game. These guys are playing 48 minutes 1 game, then resting till the next "training cycle" usually.

which would be equivalent of 16 or 24 minutes per game. Substantially less.

But I do agree with your first sentence.
