I don't have a problem with it. I also don't have a problem with injuries. Anything that might add to the flavor and the feeling of immersion, I am on board.

I wonder if people might be more amenable to player absences if players had individual tendencies towards them. Some players are injury-prone, some are durable. Some have unchecked tempers, some are saints. Some players play all-out to the point of being reckless, some take plays off.

If I knew that I was signing a player like Rasheed Wallace or Dennis Rodman, I would be more willing to accept the risk that he might miss a game or three. If I took a chance on signing Amare Stoudemire or Yao Ming, I would at least know that he would carry a higher risk than usual of missing time with injuries (and... perhaps... suffering a skill hit because of one?).

More likely that their buy and sell price would decrease compared to a more reliable player of the same skill. For a lower price, a team would take on additional risk.

It would potentially make doctors a more important consideration. Do you spend more on a doctor and count on him to keep your brittle players healthy? Or do you spend more on iron men and hope that you never need a doctor?
