Thing is, if you are down three with more than 30 seconds to play, why would you foul ? The other team will probably get to two possessions game while down three you just need a stop and after that it's up to you.
There was a LONG stretch in that 4th where neither team would score.... (nor call a timeout)...
So I agree, and disagree.... (personally if I were coach), I'd of gone and fouled, due to low FG outputs by both teams, it's more likely to get quick lay-ups, vs hitting a 3 as time winds down while guarded.
But yes, that does make some sense to me.
edit: Also, other team was 4-12 on FT total in game. So it seemed a good idea from a coaching standpoint to make them win it at the line...
