Hi guys. Just a quick note that i won't be running for election again this season.

While i think we definitely improved as a team, i didn't have the time to properly integrate with the U21 and development as much as i wanted to so time to get some new blood in i think (or old blood if mllama is running :P ).

Good luck to whoever gets the spot and i'll always be around for advice or whatever if needed.

I'd keep going for two terms if I thought I was the best candidate for the job at the time. That all depends on time, enthusiasm etc, I guess. And if I run this time! ;)

You should. A some point I plan on stepping down on 21 NT and running for NT. But not for a little bit.

Ok, I've thrown my hat in, since Dire has confirmed he isn't running, so I'll answer your questions.

Two goals: Make it to the world cup (and make a reasonable impact) and leave the team in better shape for the next manager than it was before. I've outlined in my speech my plans, beyond that, its simply a case of picking the right players and picking the right tactics - I'll let my experience speak for those.

As for working with the U21 team, I assume you are talking about player development. My opinion there is that a player is the U21 coaches to do develop as they see fit until they hit 22, and then they become the NT manager's responsibility. There are some exceptions though - if I feel that a player is being developed in a way that is seriously detrimental to the NT, then I'd request the U21 manager to go down a different path (for example, if a HoF player was being developed to be a single skill monster that no team would ever be able to afford and would be retired by the time he was 25, then I'd have a word). The second exception would be a MVP/HoF player who was clearly not going to make the 21s - in that case I think there is a strong case for the NT manager to take over early. Identifying which players those are would be a matter of collaboration.

First I want to thank Dire for his fantastic work over the last few seasons. Second I would like to say how lucky we are to have millama running. Two of the best ever back to back, we are blessed. But a question, what can you do to encourage some people to train some top SG and PF players which we seem to have lacked a bit in recent seasons where everyone was a PG or a C?

Hard to say without looking at all the prospects we have coming through, but looking at the team I don't think our problem is a lack of SGs or PFs in the NT - its more that there is a touch of 'sameness' about the players. Lots of combo guards, lots of bigs with a heap of one on one training, but I wouldn't mind a couple of guys who specialise in certain offenses - a really high JR guard, for example, if we want to play outside, or a couple of high driving/passing/IS guys for inside offenses. I think with the GDP, it is definitely important now to avoid becoming too predictable - whereas in the past the PG/C approach was probably the best one.

To get people to train that way - I guess its just a matter of guiding people's training plans, and I think getting a person in the NT is a pretty strong motivator.

So you don't want SGs or PFs but guards with high JR and bigs who are good at JS...

No - my point was more that I don't think we have a PG/C team at the moment. We have more of a combo guard/PF team - but with those PFs all looking pretty similar. Getting some of those combo guards to specialise in becoming SGs (and PGs as well) would be ideal, yes.

The problem is that those sorts of builds are the most salary efficient builds in the game, and with NT level players you need all the efficiency you can get...

Jump Range was lowered in cost recently though, so hopefully more high JR players get trained over the next few seasons...
