What I like about what you proposed is that everything you said is could potentially be based on points so not money per se. I like it.

I like the general idea but as the week after the finals takes a lot of resources for offseason processing, I would put it into the week before the finals. Also, the new salaries have to be calculated which usually happens on Tuesday/Wednesday. I think there would be a lot of things to be considered. Maybe, if it was in the week before the 2nd and 3rd final games, this would add some new considerations and tactics to the those games and maybe if you've achieved some points you could turn around the finals if you don't have HCA and train your players in the right way ...

Just some quick thoughts ... some probably don't work but I think it might be a nice idea to talk about this suggestion and see where the discussion leads us

Certain achievements get you points and the training camps use these points. For example:

Improving record over last year= 50 points
Make the play offs= 75 points
Lead league in PPG= 75 points
etc

The managers already at the top of their division should love a rich-get-richer scheme like this. Managers of teams who really need the help, though, get hurt by this.

@ franks: Could simply be solved by making sure these points can't be carried over to the next season. So basically use all the points you can otherwise those pts are lost.

FT and Stamina camps would help for the older teams. I personally think that should cost 100 pts as it improves the entire team in FT shooting. I would personally be really interested in FT Camp, as well as other managers. Most well managed training teams skip the FT and stam training so their team is always poor in those categories (I'm below 65% ft shooting team, lol!) 2 FT pops would be awesome for my team in the offseason.

This is the one thing I see as a problem with this suggestion. And a no carry over doesn't really solve it as they may be holding a single trainee that they can give a heap of boost every season.
I like the idea in whole but this point system would need some more thinking over.
There's also the off-season extra load to think of. But I guess that would be Marins problem to solve as we have no insight into how all that works.

Well, if its going to be similar to th e 2k system, they limit it to one camp per player. Maybe there would be a max camps allowed per team (say 3?) and these can be earned by certain things along the season... It also helps promote not tanking in a way that teams can help their players by competing & winning.

Those were just a few examples, I guess those would heavily favor the league powerhouses except maybe the "improve record over last year" which could help lower teams. There would be several more such as "play a rookie 25+ minutes per game". That would make it fair as most playoff teams can't afford to play rookies as often.

Training camp idea is nice.

this does help with skills like stamina and free throw which are ignored a lot.

I see the points made, and they are valid, perhaps the week before, i.e., this current week would be better, due to all the off season processes going on in that final week.

I love this idea but instead of working with a point system i think it would be better giving every team 2 or 3 training camps.

But only allow a player to go to 1 camp so for example; if you would send 2 trainees to OD camp and use the 3rd invite for FT training those 2 trainees on OD camp would not be able to go on FT camp.

I suggested offseason training camps during the last "Ask a BB day" and Marin was open for it:

Great ideia...simple, easy to implement I guess but more important, super realistic!

Considering that resistance is still importante once in a while (or even FT) maintaining this friday training is probably still needed. But being able to somehow "pay" for a training camp for some players be awsome!

Another quick reference, players would go a little better with this bonus training. If you count +1 every season, it would be +10 trains for a 28 years old, that would make players (with potential) better than they are today, this means potential would have more value on the market! For me thats ok!

Marin said he would consider it, but now that this post was created, I'm curious to see exactly what does he think of it.
