Player evaluation is forbidden in the forums.
Wait a minute there. He cannot even discuss his own players???? You have to be kidding.

Thank you.

The rule reads: "In the forum areas of Buzzerbeater, it is not permitted to post:
- Player advertising and player valuation requests. "

The OP didn't request any player valuations, nor did anyone else. He posted his own player. Are we not even allowed to post our own players??? What earthly reason?

Thanks.

I want to sell them I think, unless it's worth my time to train them (if so give advice please).. How much would I be looking to get for them? They have decent starting skills with good height right?

val·u·a·tion
ˌvalyəˈwāSH(ə)n/
noun
noun: valuation; plural noun: valuations

an estimation of something's worth, especially one carried out by a professional appraiser.
"it is wise to obtain an independent valuation"
synonyms: price, evaluation, assessment, appraisal, costing, quotation, estimate
"get an insurance valuation on that painting"
the monetary worth of something, especially as estimated by an appraiser

I quoted bobbanana but this is for Mike Franks. There are plenty of reasons for which you are allowed to post about your own players. There are a few reasons for which you are not.

Example: Hey! Look at my awesome player! (allowed)

Example: Hey! Look at my awesome player! How much do you think he is worth? (not allowed)

Having said that, there are exceptions, like this thread in the USA forum.(255706.1), but even this thread has rules which should be followed.

What possible rationale is there for prohibiting this?

Personally... I am a firm believer in training players for your team in general because the difference it makes in you economy to have homegrown players can be much more astounding than you think. You also have a lot of older players who are on the decline of their skills too, so this would be a good time to transition as you go "younger" too....

That said, from a training standpoint: The 18 year old has horrible SB for a big. horrible OD and horrible JS, so he is what we would refer to as a "donkey". Basically, he'd be a big salary over-inflated guy with great primaries unless you spent massive time correcting him.

the 19 year old, while having those atrocious HN/DR/PA, the HN/DR is easily fixed with 1v1 forwards training. which, if you're only really training those 2 guys, but don't want to "tank" league games in the process, is still doable, since between your 2 league games and then cup/scrimmage you should be able to get them their 48+

Also, with the 19 year old being 7'1 and starting with strong OD that is a HUGE help... because even if you just pump primaries and make the 18 year old a donkey. The 19 year old, getting the same training will fairly more rounded because of that.

i could go into much less general, and much more specific detail if you want. BB-Mail me if that's the case. Ultimately it's up to you, but I don't think you can go wrong either way.

Well, like LA-Manon pointed out, I'm not qualified to give an answer on this. Having said that, put it in the "imagine if everyone did that" category. Imagine if everyone wanted their own front page thread to hype their players, and another front page thread to announce their players were up for sale. Of course, not everyone would do it. But how many would really need to before the forums became essentially a morass of unnavigable* spam?

*Is unnavigable a word? I need it to be a word.

edit: I guess I should point out that the rule that was quoted only prohibits asking for player valuations, we are still free to offer them, as long as they are unsolicited. The rule really seems designed to preemt spam or unfair/innapropriate advertising practices, not stifle advice when appropriate or conversation in general.

There are federations, where you can ask for player valuations - so its just a matter of WHERE the request is posted. To me there is no harm done if sb. posts a number he thinks might be a good value for a player - who would be harmed by that? I don't know.

Also there could be a sticky thread in the forums, where those questions can be asked, not so sure if that would lead to a huge spam problem...

Manon does not know why this rule is in place and if Marin does not know either - which might be likely - we'll never find out.

@OP:
Both players are somewhat mediocre, if you can sell them for a decent amount, that allows you to get some finished products that'll help you promote, I'd go for it.
