Scottie Pippen is a HOF but not an MVP and is better than a lot of guys that won an MVP.

I once had a team with 1757 players and was $25,835,360 in debt. This is not that team. Join the Discord group open to anyone, but especially for USA managers to improve your club or get involved with the U21 and NT programs (https://discord.gg/cKpNkt2).

MVP - for performance in one season.
HoF - for whole life performance.

HoF > MVP

Yeah, it's a great observation, winning an MVP is greater than being inducted in HoF... in real life, especially in NBA. But still "Hall of fame" sounds cooler and classier, so it's ok that in BB it ranks higher :)

You can't compare a MVP trophy and an introduction of the HoF for a few reasons:

1. There are a few players introduced to the HoF each season for only one MVP award. The MVP title is more selective than the HoF (please note, that this is not relevant to the level of the player).

2. A MVP award can be won by the same player multiple years, an inclusion to the HoF happens once and last for the whole eternity. If the same player wins multiple MVP, very few different players will win the award during a given time span.

3. To win a MVP award, the team the player plays for be at the top (or very near). An HoF may not necessarily belongs to a winning a team (I believe, this is quite rare).

If we don't think about the MVP award, there is another to think about MVP: this is the Most Valuable Player of the team at a given time. Each team has a MVP but not all teams have HoF as one needs to be among the greatest of all time and not at a given time. If we look at it with that angle, there is always a MVP but HoF are a rarer kind of player.

I disagree with your first sentence. A franchise player is not the best player of the team, it's a player you can build a team/franchise around. There aren't 30 of them (LeBron James, Kevin Durant and a few others). To me, a franchise player is well above MVP or HoF.

I understand your point and I agree that potential is not a role. Being the league MVP needs a very high ceiling.
