Yes, 17%, it's weak for U21 team, 28% it's more logical for NT team.

So ok, but why it's weak?
Cause Japan U21 team, it's the simpliest way for Japanese Manager to have an International player.
An All-Star potential player, is enough to reach U21 team, each team could have one or two on each draft.
A better potential will be appreciate of course, but we reserve the best potentials for the NT.
Indeed, U21 player does not train in the same way as an NT player, who requires more patience and better potential.

How many time for a U21 player?
I'm agree, one season is not enough and it depends ot its skills and of his age, 18 or 19.
Depending on his age, 1 to 2 seasons of 1 on 1 AS/AF then 2 seasons to increase the primaries according to his position.
In fact until the end of his 21 years, that is to say 3 to 4 seasons.

I'm not coming to sue anyone, BB remains a game where everyone is free to play as they see fit.
I'm here to show what is the real interest in training national players.

I still think that OD and Passing should only be one or two levels below driving and handling.
For example: this player can help the U-21 NOW
Jump Shot: proficient Jump Range: strong
Outside Def.: proficient Handling: prolific
Driving: prolific ↑ Passing: proficient ↑
Inside Shot: strong Inside Def.: mediocre
Rebounding: respectable Shot Blocking: average
Stamina: awful Free Throw: tremendous ↑

This player can't.
Jump Shot: strong Jump Range: average
Outside Def.: respectable Handling: sensational
Driving: sensational ↑ Passing: average
Inside Shot: prolific Inside Def.: mediocre
Rebounding: inept Shot Blocking: average
Stamina: awful Free Throw: average ↑

The owner player two wonders why his guy doesn't start. Because he can't defend or pass.
I really think you should keep the gap to two levels.

It could be a good idea but it is difficult to fix young players in a mature roster. I am with OD and Passing right now. If I get a 18 player for trainning I could not give him 1vs1, Jump shot...

Well, I was one of them when I was training Takagi and Takuda. I was giving 1vs1 Fs until the got 16-17 and after that I changed the training to IS. I think that in Japan we should use the U21 to train future NT players more than wining games because we do not have much to pick. I was in the U21 Spain staff before and it cant be compare how many players are in Spain when we do not have even a single star player sometimes

Yes Orgram I think you worked well with Takagi and Takuda for U21 and now, when you are training them for the NT.
And it's very difficult to train U21 and NT at the same time. But it's a good exemple that NT Players can be former U21s.

Yes, It's not comparable, Spain has 1145 teams when Japan has only 16! For 1 season, It's more than 3000 draftees, and just 48 for Japan! And how many will go to U21 and NT? In Japan 5 or 6 U21 and finally none, or1 or 2 for NT.

My only goal with this project is to interest more Japanese managers to train national players, and I know you are 4 or 5 japanese managers to do it but With 2 or 3 more managers, it's 4, 5, 6 or more players more.

Sure, I understand Yellow Cake, he even got impressive results with the U21. He wants to pick the best he can and to win all the games.

What I mean is we have only 16 teams and maybe only 4 o 5 who are active. So we only have maybe 1 good player for the NT every 2 or 3 seasons. Even if he trains 1vs1 Fs only and for the U21 is useless, maybe it is better for us to prioritize that players with NT potential and giving them the extra experience.

By the way Yellow Cake, take a look (50574246), around 50 sos. I sold him weeks ago. He was pretty decent and his manager is a friend of mine. He will receive proper training

Thanks. He is already on my radar. In fact, when I cut the 21 year olds, I will be picking him up.

At first he looks nice ... 18, HoF, a future NT with a good training plan ;-)

I'm happy that I have opened debate about training for Japan players but I would like more managers to participate at this debate.

NT and U21 teams are currently heavily dependents on foreign managers who are less interesting to keep them or to train them when their salaries are high. At final, it's a problem in order to have top players.

Here is a new observation on Japanese players, keeping only players who are 27 years old or less:
- 12 players with 100 or more TSP. 6 are in Japanese teams (5 differents)
- 6 players are above 120 and 5 of them are in Japanese teams (4 differents)
What do you think about it?

With my Utopia team I buy at the moment 2 Japanese players who are FP and have 19, there non top players at the moment.
In near future, I will try to have 6, with 18 or 19 years old and who are Franchise Player at least.

I will open a new topic where you can follow their progress until the end of their 21 years, and where everyone can post the progress of their young players.
