Thanks for the response Sharkboy but I'll say two things to your post:

1) I am winning. LOL. I'm 10-0 !

2) I only 3 extra guys on the roster. I mainly have them in case injuries strike. I suppose I could cut them, but I would only be saving like $6 or $7 thousand by cutting those 3 guys.

- But that is one of the things that I don't understand. I'm 10-0. In first place and I don't come close to selling out. I have no means of revenue at all. I haven't spent money on big price tag players. I don't have players with huge weekly prices. I just don't get it. The economy in this game seems completely broken.

MOD, ADMIN, VETERAN, what else can I do?

Thanks for any and all advice.

- Rack

Your ticket prices are too high.

Look at the ticket prices I can command, and I'm in the top division.

Thanks guys! I will do that. I'll lower my prices and I'll build 3 boxes and see what happens. I have nothing to lose.

Anyone else with any advice?

Max scouting on draft players is a bit painful at 40k per week considering you're leading the division, no?

It would be if he weren't at divIV.

Probably most of the teams in his league will turn into bots until it gets to the draft.
I think it's worth it.

I think this scenario gets answered differently on a personal level.

Take into account the 'if' that teams will turn into bots and he's top of the league. Even if he was dead last I personally would find that extra 20k per week for 1 extra scouting is big. I'd happily settle for 20k and 3 scouted draftees per week if I was last. It's not just a question of wanting the best trainees. It's also about balancing your weekly budget.

Going into a negative budget and recovering from TV revenue is balancing on a tightrope. Even if the teams in his division turn into bots, bots draft blind anyway. So you'll draft just as good while cutting your scouting expenditure in half. To some teams scouting 1-2 players a week is a necessity, but scouting 4 a week is surely a luxury.

i think scouting can benefit more a team who is in the lower standings than the one on top!

what i mean is, if your rank number 1 or 2 in your league chances are you will be drafting at the end of the draft, and more likely or so youll get a good pick on the lower bracket batch of players. ( im not saying you wont get anything good but not as good as those who get to pick ahead of you especially the first 5 picks ).

i meanwhat are chances you might get the best pick or top 5 or top10 picks but what is the chance or probability of getting it!

the most happy of picks i got was last 2 season picks, but it wasnt as heavy weight just that i have the lowest pick and i got really quality guys that i can insert on my 2nd team and 3rd team already.

so for me id rather get someone on the free agents list than hope for the draft to get me someone i need!

I agree with most of what's been said; like any other game, you have to work to be successful - you can't just leave the gam alone for three weeks, come back, and expect to have a pile of cash. You have to make strategic decisions based on what direction you want to take in this game.

My arena is almost 5600 cap., and sells out almost every game (except for a small rough patch where I lost a couple of games, I *do* sell out every game) - which is based on a combination of knowing what capacity you can handle, knowing how high you can charge your tickets, and performance on the field. The engine is built so that people will not pay too high for tickets if they feel they're being ripped off (and max price for a div IV team is definitely too high).

I also tend to scout 3 players a week - $40K/week is too much, IMO, and the difference between 3 and 4 is not that high in the end. And if I'm fairly high on the table after the all-star break, I'll often lower my scouting to 2 players/week.

I also agree that you don't need that many players. You really only need 13 players, IMO - one full roster plus one spare in case of injuries. The only reason I keep 16 is that I'm training several younger players ATM to sell later (which I can afford to do; if you want higher income, that's not an option).

Also, keep track of staff - often, staff at the same or higher levels pop up at cheaper salaries. It costs a full salary to get rid of the old one, but within a short time it will be worth it.

And look to the long term; I have to constantly remind myself not to be bothered by immediate results, as this game does not dish out instant gratification very often (I was unlucky enough to have a lot of success very early on, and now that it's tougher, it's sometimes hard to swallow). You have to be in for the long haul, or don't bother.

Like any good strategy game, it takes time to build your team in all of its regards - you have to play around with things to figure out what's best for you. The way I have things set up, I lose about $8k a week in a week with one home non-tv game, but I could easily be making quite a bit if I didn't have extra players being trained and lower staff and scouting - you have to decide your priorities, and take it from there.
