Are there a lot of bots in div 3?
If there are not.. then I would think you would need a better record than 16-6.. just in my conference and my friend's conference, there are 6 teams with 18 or more wins.

Oh. That's more than I would have thought.. lol.

So maybe I might move to div III? I don't really want to because of bots.. I want to wait until I can win.

Most of the bots in D.III will relegate naturally. 38 spread over 16 series is a little less than 2.5 per league, and there are 6 potential relegation spots.

Teams that are abandoned have their lineups reset (they use their 12 highest salaried players, with the most expensive starting at PG), so they are fairly easy to beat. And owners are more likely to stop logging in if their team is losing, than if it is winning.

The source of most extra promotions into USA D.III actually come from bots being promoted into D.III (there are 15 leagues that are all bot) and then relegated into another D.IV league as part of the bot cleanup. There are also 11 D.IV leagues with only a single owned team, but most of these will win their league's playoff.

There are 4 unowned teams in D.II which will be relegated to D.III as a normal relegation, and then moved on to D.IV as part of the bot cleanup.

So that makes perhaps 25 extra promotions. Extra promotions are based on place within conference, and then regular season record, so you are not only 16-6, you are a 2nd place team. So I think the extra promotions from D.IV will be 1st place teams with pretty good, but not exceptional records. Perhaps 17 or 18 wins.

In past seasons, 3rd place teams have been promoted as part of the bot cleanup, so D.III is really starting to firm up with experience teams/owners.

You directed that post to me but then you were not talking about my team (I'm not 16-6). I'm not the same person who originally posted. :-)

I didn't realize exactly how it worked so I kinda jumped into someone else's topic.. heh. Thanks for making it so clear. :-)

I checked your league standings and saw that you were 2nd, and then got mixed up.

18-3 would probably be good enough if you were in first place, so I'd expect both Sin Amor and Destroyers to promote, even if neither win the playoffs. But since the extra promotion takes into account not only record from place, I think you'll need to win the playoffs.

It's fairly easy to check, which I haven't, but if there are any bots, they're probably in relegating positions.

Just did a quick check and currently there are 4 bots in USA II.

2 of them are in the 8th spot and will auto-demote anyway. The other 2 are placed in 6th and 7th place. Depending on how they fare in the Relegation matches, they could demote from there as well.

If one of those 2 wins the relegation series, then you would promote in their place if you lose the playoffs, depending on whether another undefeated III team doesn't suffer an unexpected playoff lose.

I don't think that any one will promote from D.III without winning the playoff. As soon as teams go ownerless, their lineup gets reset, so they aren't too likely to win a relegation playoff. There is one team that may go bot, so maybe you have a chance there.

For D.III there could be about 28 bots promoting from D.IV, perhaps 4 that won't relegate from D.III, and 6 bots in D.II. So around 38 extra promotions from D.IV to D.III. This would include many conference winners - but not all.
