Except, I didn't ask that question. I can read the rules. :P

I was looking for a way to figure out how many teams are remaining now that we are in the 3rd round. Just so I can figure out what my income potential will be at each stage should I be successful in my cup run.

I'm guess at some point, you can count the number of teams...

just do the math. we've played 1 round with 4096 teams. then another with half that. and now we have another with half that. so up until the 5th round we will still only get 25k per game.

Like I said, I was lazy.

But, having gotten that bit of informatiom, there are 1024 left which I just confirmed.

Maybe I will get lucky next week with a good matchup in the cup and make it into the final 256.

the problem is, that not every team was shown ... So you can't count, and normally there is no information how long the tournament goes, and with how much teams it starts.

Well, there are 50 games a 'page', and 10 pages with a few extra games on the 11th.

512 games = 1024 teams left. I've been very fortunate so far to get 3 Div V bots, my good fortune cannot continue forever. ;)

I went 6 rounds last season and that was 128 teams, so for the USA:

rd 1 - 4096 teams --> $25k to the winning team
rd 2 - 2048 --> $25k
rd 3 - 1028 --> $25k
rd 4 - 512 --> $25k
rd 5 - 256 --> $30k
rd 6 - 128 --> $35k
rd 7 - 64 --> $40k
rd 8 - 32 --> $45k
rd 9 - 16 --> $50k
rd 10 - 8 --> $75k
rd 11 - 4 --> $100k
rd 12 - 2 --> $250k

Hope I did my math correctly.

Regardless of the number of teams remaining, the income from the Cup is abysmal. In all the uproar over the percentage of gate receipt money going to the players union in regular season games, the severe reduction in Cup income—or at least its potential—has been overlooked. in some cases I believe it could be up to a 80% reduction. I'm simply weighing in...

I agree with you...part of the advantage of building a bigger arena is getting additional cup income. Now it doesn't matter at all...
