I was just thinking about #2. Well, actually about both of them. Do we know what form the match data is in? (I sort of picture a text file with lots of event key codes for various in-game events.) Could that data be made available in some format that could be used by helper applications? (Maybe it already is?) If so, then people could write programs to interpret the game events and generate more detailed stats like the original poster asked about.
edit: Upon reading a bit of the thread that Juice linked, I see that BB-Forrest was talking about something like this back then. Would be cool!
