so my interpretation is that dyson must be a terrible point gaurd... in fact he was 4 times worse a point guard than your 3rd string center or backup SF, and 6x better than your starter after he was tired and/or in foul trouble. given his ratings and practice this week does this make sense? another possibility is that your backup PG played some minutes as SG and Kuykendal is the real dog. if you really only want people from the depth chart to play right now, use SFDC.

he looks more like a SG to me... was he playing there when your weird sub happened?

my thinking is that your starting SG got tired, the coach liked dyson better than the backup (i forget his name), put him in at SG, then your starting PG got tired/foul trouble... and when the coach looked to the bench nobody on the depth chart was available, so he made the best choice he had. We aren't currently going through exhausting all the possible combinations of positions, but rather just doing single swap comparisons... our thinking being that the coach can't possibily do that (and frankly we don't have the computational time to either).

We could put a check in that just looked at whose on the floor and considered swapping everyone around in position and finding the best combination.. so if the best PG happened to be at SG and vice versa then they'd get swapped into the right spots.

The "swapping" sounds like a good idea.

I guess what I experienced was a result of LCD, and not a bug. I guess I just didn't fully understand LCD, because it's always fallen in line with my depth chart.

i mean... i'm pretty sure its not a bug too.. .. i was trying to see if it made sense given how I know i wrote it to work. So does that mean that he was playing SG at the time? (or even SF?)

forrest

I'm pretty sure the starting SG was in at the time. In fact, i think all the starters were in except the PG.

so there is a bug somewhere...

the weird thing that happened is this...

at PG
pepper played the first 4
dyson the next 3
then pepper again for 6
then dyson was in for 3 or 4 again
then pepper came back for 2 minutes
and was taken out of the game with ~6 minutes to go in the first half and never came back in the game

dyson started the second half (this is one bug.. i'm not sure if we didn't do check subs, or the players aren't getting rested enough at halftime, but your starters should start the second half regardless)

then dyson needed a break after playing for 10 minutes or so.. but rather than going back to pepper as you would expect the coach went to norman, then from norman to your 3rd string center whatever his name is... then by the time dyson came back in it was a blowout so pepper couldn't play anymore.. but at that point if the backups got in more i understand why..cause you had no more eligible players in the DC (pepper sitting cause it was a 40 point game).

i'll look into this... there are 3 possibilities.

a) the foul trouble code is messed up and it didn't take the punishment for pepper getting too many fouls early off.
b) he was injured and the game viewer failed to display it
c) something i'm not thinking of.

one thing i did notice is that pepper seemed to tire much more easily that other players.. i'm guessing he was either worn out or has a low stamina... is this true?

I'm not sure what you mean by worn out, but his stamina is inept - not that low but obviously not high.

Thanks so much for looking into this further, I appreciate it!
