1- you can very easily tie and rise your enthusiasm
2- you can play your backups and keep all your starters for the league.

In short, luck determines how successful your team is :)

For the record - I agree with that. (I benefited last season, this one I would probably just collect flags)

What makes it unfair?

the fact that:
1- you can very easily tie and rise your enthusiasm
2- you can play your backups and keep all your starters for the league.
3- you can train more easily as you already know you'll have garbage time.

In short, luck determines how successful your team is :)

I ask you a question :)
What's the fun in having bots playing against each other?

So you'd prefer that teams not have abilities 1-3? Seems like you'd be happy with, for instance, a II team playing a II team then, no?

Is it just me, or do these 3 not even apply to bot v bot games? Surely your argument is that you don't want any player v bot games, so bot v bot games are in fact the best solution for you, no?

He wants bots to be out of competition completely as soon as possible. Bot vs. bot equals a bot in next round.

I understand him, this way many teams would have a chance to manage enthussiasm in th first round agaisnt bot in first week of season no matter how harsh the draw would be in next rounds.

If you want to see how freaky the Cup scheduling can get, check out the case of the Harrisburg hammerheads. That team just got promoted from USA IV.8 to USA III.7. One of the top team in the league is The Deitys. The poor Hammerheads not only have to open the regular season against the Deitys, they also drew the Deitys in the first round of the Cup and have to play them again in the same week! That's a rough introduction to Division III. Talk about a weird coincidence!

Don't ask what sort of Chunks they are, you probably don't want to know. Blowing Chunks since Season 4!

exactly :)
In order to allow all active users to play the cup there are plenty of bots too. A lucky team will get a bot in the first 3-4 (even 5) rounds, an unlucky team will get real users... and if these two teams have to compete in the same league this situation creates a big disparity.

no, because the point is that we (I guess the BBs as well) want to give a chance to small(er) teams to go further in the cup.
I don't want to penalize small teams, I just want to penalize bots :)

I agree completely. Unfortunately the current design of the cup makes it quite uniinterresting and winning the cup (especially in small countries like Sweden) is anything but prestigious which is sad.

Two seasons ago I was lucky with the draw and could advance to the semifinals playing TIE in every game. This ment that I had a big advantage in the league just because of some luck in the drawing.

Currently the primary reason to stay in the cup for me is to be able to TIE and build enthusiasm for the league games (I know a lot others that feel the same). The cup in itself is pretty meaningless.

This season in Italy there is a II vs. II and at least 4 II vs. III games in the first cup round.
On the other hand it is quite common to have bots still in the 4th-5th round.

My suggestion is to forbid bot vs. bot games, so that the big majority of them won't reach the second round and the competition will be fairer for everybody :)

I have II vs.II in the first round and my cup is already over. It's totally unfair - their should be "pools" like in some football competition for example pool1 teams from I and II playing against pool2 - teams from IV and V.

there should be "pools"

Actually, this sounds like an interesting idea to me. They already do something like this in the NT games, so why not the domestic cups as well? Any opinions on this?

Edit: Actually, reading the previous post back to myself and then my reply, I'm actually suggesting a completely different thing, i.e. something similar to the NT games rather than the "pools" system which was proposed above. I think I prefer my suggestion over the "pools" one. Still, anyone else think it's a good idea?
