I would train this 19 year old. For an SF , he needs outside shooting and rebounding. If possible, team training for free throws is essential,. This guy could get fouled all day because he can't hit the charity. A 19 yr old with 3,000 salary is a good start.

When a team receives free throws , one slang term calls this charity. Also, the stripe marked on the court is called the charity stripe or foul line. The players free throw shooting is atrocious. During his free days he should go back to the farm and practice free throws four hours each day.

He's interesting not like most SF's. I think the best plan with him would be to train JS, Pressure, Driving at SF/PF. Training JR takes to long and his JR is too low to really even bother. Training Pressure will also give him secondary training at ID and he's short so training small man skills is faster. Training driving will give secondary training to JS and also give your player some more room to shoot as he has a small range. Doing it at the SF/PF position will also give IS training which would be nice to get a pop there.

And of course as said above some FT is essential

He can be trained, but he won't be able to reach his full potential. He's already 19.

I agree with Somebody important, both of the trainees are 19 and wont be as good because of that. But its train one or the other, both need and can train quickly on opposite skills and you have to choose which you want to concentrate on.

One thing i will say though, even if he cant reach his full potential he should be fairly inexpensive to purchase, and then with training, when he gets better and you're in a better position, sell him and buy a better trainee and possibly buy another player as well. Until you get a few players that are dominant you should look to train and sell until you get awesome trainees, and can train them to be unbelievable players, that is my opinion.

Some people call this "day trading" and are against it, in my opinion it is the best way to accelerate your teams development.
