i like the idea and GM-oueftete linked me to one the other night when the BB3 games were on.

I think it would only work if the BB's wanted to actively promote it and if the right people were there to make sure that the content was positive for all involved.

I would gladly put my name in the hat to assist both the promotion and to look in frequently to ensure all is in order.

Can an unofficial external chat room be opened by someone more technical than me that has the backing of the BB's so that we can trial it.

If this is coupled by a news release then we can at least see who/how many would actually get involved.

Ricey mentioned what i would consider to be the focal points for the room to incorporate, the idea of a place to hang-out and watch games is also good.... i guess the idea needs to evolve before something full bloodied can come from it.

Shall we put it to the test?

No, if your not online at a specific time, you miss all the great discussion, lets stick to the forum.

There's no reason to not have a chat room - it's not meant to replace the forums, but rather to enhance the experience.

A chat room enables a faster paced and more indepth discussion of the game, by the nature of forums the slow pace can hinder useful information being passed especially with others posting useless comments.

The forums today are always the same questions. A chat would enable rookies to learn faster and also allow those who care more about the game discuss it real time. A chat is to compliment the tools we already have and most games have already taken this step, I know hattrick has multiple chatrooms on different servers. If it is something you don't like or don't want to join then the forums will still be here with the same "Which player is better?" "What offense should I run" threads.

I know there is a good chunk of players that sit at their computers watching their games might as well chat between everyone doing the same thing.

Superfly Guy: The forum Post I linked has the instructions to a fully registered permanent chat room. All it needs it more activity and it could possibly develop into something fun. Step by Step ;)

Most of my time in chat would be spent talking to people not in my league. I doubt I would use it more than twice a week. If some of us are here half the day seven days a week (unworking, or school on holiday) the GMs will certainly have an increase in work load. In the simplest words - I don't have time for live chat.
