they ONLY check if the numbers work.
That really summarizes it all.
They check the players' value, not what they will give each team.
Exactly what should be done here - verify that the price is right (bound it between two close values), not that the player was the right one.

So Rashard Lewis is worth as much as Chris Paul and Blake Griffin combined? Samuel Dalembert has the same value as Derrick Rose? And Luis Scola is worth more than any of Blake Griffin, Delembert or Rose?

Come on Pini, even you have to understand that "Salary" is not the same as "Value" in the NBA. It´s not even the same in BB, and here Salary and Skill are much more connected than in your beloved NBA.

By the way: you failed to acknowledge that you were plainly wrong in your statement about NBA checking that every team receives something OF WORTH.

I think the issue here is that in the NBA overpaying players DOES happen. However, none of the teams in the NBA or any league I'm aware of win from making 10 (or maybe 30) trades a season, and continue to do so every season.

NBA is a closed market anyways. You have 450 Players in the NBA, while you have >450 k in BB. If there´s a bigger market of players available, and you are not satisfied with your team, it´s rather obvious that you try to improve.

Also, in NBA if you lose money big time you´re not going bankrupt. In the worst case, your team gets sold to someone, but the franchise goes on, so you don´t rely on earning money. If you lose money in BB your franchise will get ripped apart. So you HAVE to earn money. In addition, the NBA contract systems works with contract length (and spendings related to contract lengths). Doesn´t apply to BB (and I´ve never seen a proposal about THAT before - Pini, your turn).

-> The NBA system of trading is by no means compareable to what´s going on in BB. As been stated a gazillion times before by numerous people. So why bother jacking up all those NBA comparisons when talking about the BB trading system at all?

A sure thing is that they did NOT get hundreds of percentage above their market value.

So overpricing is forbidden!!!
Now you cannot go around it!
And that means that a limitation is required to insure that the prices players are bought are around their value - not way above and not way below!

The NBA limits players value upon the years they are playing etc.
This is done (like the Salary-cap law) to ensure that small-market teams could compete.
So I understand that you are supporting Salary-Cap.

Each of them is priced upon his value at that age, with a very small deviation.

Each deal needs to have all sides switching the same contracts' value.

1. the contract value, is not always the player value(Dampier, Lewis, Griffin)

2. this is only important when you are above the cap
