i totally agree with you that any changes to the game engine, how small or insignificant they might be, should be mentioned under the news section on the first page you see when you login. Think it is fair to let the whole community know about changes and more importantly any big changes or bugs. Think it gives a HUGE UNFAIR advantage to people (as you can see in this thread) know certain things are incorrect, get this confirmed by someone from BB and than are being told what the recent changes were and the planned changes might be.

Probably you don't understand the sense of this discussion...

Everyone here would like to give an opinion to improve the game not to destroy it, you can't be sure about the community cause you aren't the community, we are just discussing about this matter, as you can see, there is something not really correct in the rebounds and maybe there are still other details that can be improved, your posts when you say that everything is ok and the community is happy don't give any help or advice to anyone. For the last time, we are not fighting we are discussing about the possibility to make BB better. All the people that posted here loves BB, users that don't like BB don't waste time discussing about a game that they don't like.

interesting. i did give my advice. secondly quote me pls where I have said I speak for the community? It is clear you haven´t read my posts or make from them what you prefer to read into it. Because I have said, I think small changes should be made if there are bugs. Like rebounding. Overall the game engine seems alright. I still have to see 1 game where the way better team lost and you cant explain this from the statistics. (i am not talking about the team or player ratings, because they seem to be flawed) Therefore I am happy with the game engine in general. What is wrong with that? Secondly I have said that changes should made known to the public in the news forums. Thirdly I have not said you are fighting. I have never said or even implied I speak for the community, but you can inform them and involve them with polls etc. People like you and me might have time to read the forums. But not everyone has that time, so i think it is a huge assumption to say that only people that love buzzerbeater post here, but you might be right, who am I to say what is right or wrong. Most people also have not the time to collect all data from every game and the knowledge to change this data into statistics, game formulas and therefore have this extra inside knowledge and therefore are able to discuss this directly with the developers... which again in my opinion gives people that have this time an advantage. i am just pointing this out, not being upset or jealous about it. Once again let me say I am happy with how this game works, the challenge it provides compared to hattrick and the great community this game has... Maybe some big changes are needed, I just hope that as has happened a few times in hattrick this doesn´t mean that for anyone, not just me, all their hard work and building a team around certain tactics, which does take years in real time, goes down the drain. Even with an announcement off 1 season to give you time to adjust, you can not fully adjust because 1 it isn´t enough time, 2 you don´t know how the new changes pan out and therefore can´t act on them...

Ok, I agree with you but only let me say that imho, if someone has an idea or even a critic he should be free to write his opinion, BB had some changes during the last seasons and I don't think that this game is perfect now, giving opinions BBs can decide if there is something to change or not, that's all ;) Till now I've apprechiated a lot the work done by BBs but I repeat I think that this game can be still implemented a little bit, piece by piece

What I've written is that: assists is not related completely to the skill level, rebounds same that assist, shot blocking is not important 1 or 2 blocking per game don't change anything but even with 1 pr 2 shot blocking an idea could be write a shot blocking in the comment during the game, that the GE must accept my five starting roster and finally that imho there is still a little advantage for the teams that train shorters players, these are the details that I'd like to say to the BBs, if they think that the game is ok, perfect, I will continue to play in both cases

salaries are not the way to evaluate a playere...
look at this(46657.74)
jumpr range is simply a multiplier of outside shooting, but had more weight on the salary than the other skill for a SG,and more more than outside defence, which are skill useful than Jump range, which need a work also on outside shooting
and inside shooting is useful than driving, especially if one player use inside tactics, but his impact about salaries is zero, look at small forward and shooting guard salaries formulas

a guard with very high jump range, driving and handling, but low outside shooting, outside defence, passing and also a little bit of inside shot is very weak but have an huge salary

i really did not intentionally not respond to your posts... i will go back and look to see what you wrote, but honestly i'm just doing the best I can to respond with the flow of the discussion.. if that somehow ends up being a 3-4 way discussion it really isn't intentional... I have no intention of making a change based only upon what i read from 3 or 4 people in the forum, but I'm not going to be afraid to discuss changes either.

As far as putting up a news post.. i really don't think this change is a large enough one to warrant a news post. certaintly if we made any of the changes that have been discussed.. ie rebounding balance/outside shooting balance, etc... there would be a post.

EDIT: SOME OF THESE STATEMENTS MIGHT BE MISLEADING.. PLEASE READ (66639.86)

every online game i have played, when it was either hattrick or world of warcraft or one off the other many games, there are always balancing issues. some have a bigger impact than others. As long as the ones that cause major problems get dealt with, I hope you will keep the changes to the game engine to a minimum. There will always be unhappy "whining" bunnies, whatever changes you make. When I look at the statistics from the games and not to the team player ratings or individual player ratings, 95% off the results (if not a higher %) make total sense. I think people should stop looking at nice words (the ratings) and use their brains and look at their statistics. So many posts in the "how did i loose this game" are easy to explain as 1+1=2. I am a total noob when it comes to basketball, but I use my brains.

I might be totally off topic here and there might be a problem with the game engine, but i bet 99% off the people are happy with this game. (most likely because it is so much better than hattrick). So why not just fix small issues, and leave the happy people happy??

I think i didnt respond to this because i suspect what you say is to a great extent what i think. i hate the team ratings, i have said so before.. i think people need to look at their player ratings and what happened in the match to understand why they lost. I think i probably have a propensity to respond to posts more than i disagree with than ones that i do.

rebounding I think needs to be rebalanced

Concerning rebounding, a long time ago Charles suggested this ((19533.27)):
On the offensive rebounding, we've looked at implementing the effects of offenses, and we're going to make that change for season 5 instead of now, because it's not fair to make a change like that without a prior announcement. I agree it should be done, but not without any warning.

I think that this was actually never implemented. Is there a chance that it will be included in the rebalancing process?

MMM...i think is unfair to take more value to rebounding, because a rebound is a consequence of a great defence or a poor attack,so it cannot became the mot important skill...the problem is only the visualization in team rating

Coming back to inside vs outside, I also think that the game is well balanced but maybe there is still a little bit advantage playing inside. I think BBs can see everything from the headquarter, stats and other things that we don't know.

Good point, we all have our opinions but we don't have all the data the BBs have.

re: Inside vs Outside. I've been here long enough to have been both an inside and outside focused team for several seasons each. IMO, it's better to be an inside team in BB fora couple reasons:

1 - inside players are easier to train. they might have only a few good skills, or maybe only two in some cases (IS and Reb) and can be very effective. Also, inside scoring can be trained very quickly as one position training for center. Jump shot is two position training (which also requires you to have 4-5 trainees to do guards), and also they need at least some jump range. This is a huge difference between building in inside vs an outside scorer.

2 - Inside focused teams generate lots of fouls, drawing free throws and putting opponents in foul trouble.

Now, rather then making major adjustments to the GE, id rather see some realism added to the SF position. Taking a center and plopping them in at SF and playing look inside is completely detached from reality. I'd prefer to see the SF mature into closer to what you'd expect from the typical SF in real life. Then you can leave all the other minor advantages mentioned above and solve the issue this way.
