I said that everyone who watches RL basketball and who watched a few games in the BB match engine should notice this problem.

Insofar as BB tries to simulate realistic basketball games, people will intuitively try to benchmark what they see against real basketball games.

The problem is that even if the simulating algorithm is valid, you won't get comparable results unless you're using comparable inputs to the process. Therefore, before drawing definitive conclusions about GE changes from watching a handful of games, the first question we ask ourselves should probably be, "Is it possible that what we see is caused by a fundamental difference in player abilities?"

"I don't know half of you half as well as I should like; and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve."

in shooting percentage thread, there is the assumption that OD was trained "too much", which should probadly the main skill in fouling.

I don't know what this assumption was based on. However, Jump Shot is being trained significantly more than defense.

This can be easily checked on the transfer market. I picked a the first level that came to mind, prominent. The results were:

Jump Shot (prominent or better): 234 results
Outside Defense (prominent or better): 37 results.

i dont get the point what is going on here,

what are we trying to equate . .. i just read this forum but a lot of things said seems deviates from what point of arguement to another.

one thing i read about a center or a big man who shoots a 3 and gets fouled by what i presume to be also a big man.

* my answer to this, though you have the right mind that its best to leave a center who doesnt have the better chance than a guard to shoot a 3 going in ( in general ) but why foul him.

tha game like real life or not at times comes to a situation wouldnt you think he might have come from a pick and roll or somewhat a in a position to shoot but your defender is close to him and accidentally fouls him?

also does that big man have enough OD in him to prevent himself from fouling.

an example in real life, when i was in high school i was playing pf and c all the way till i graduate when i reach college due to my height ( me being small ) i find myself i couldnt play center no more when i started to play sf and it wasnt long till i was playing sg. that adjustment was hard for me at the start due to my lack of knowledge how to play outside how to react to screens , those pick and roll etc it wasnt easy for me because all those time all i know wa how to post move , guard the post , box out , reb and all. i even get scolded by my coach getting myself to stop inside when my man was outside.

since he doesnt have OD , not all the time your defense is just facing a player one on one. its a simulation and just imagine that. how did you react when the knicks and indiana game when LJ ( grand mama ) got fouled on a 3 pts attempt on a almost end game ? which in the end the knicks won.

in bb the lower your defense is, there is a larger chance or % that a plyer would foul in game. also check your player if he often fouls even with a high OD or ID then i think its the secret attitude place in each player.

things happen . ..
