I just think this new coach system is ridiculous. It doesn't make sense at all. A level 2 staff member can get after several weeks the wage for a much higher level of staff member, but his performances stay the same. That's totally crap.
Why don't we at least say that the staff member, as his wages grow, also grows in experience and skill. And therefore, after several raises he does a better job, because he gets to know the team and becomes more experienced in his work. To say, a trainer or a doctor always stay equal during their whole career is not only unrealistic, it's also very disrespectful towards the PR Managers and trainers that are doing their job right now as I write here in this forum to make their team better. ;)
Seriously, it's nonsense and not thought until the end. Just take look at the prices for a level 5 trainer. They are unaffordable no matter when you log in.
I liked the old system much more, where coaches also randomly raised their performances or lost skill.
Best,

You are in division 4. Would Phil Jackson be available to your team?
My team can afford a level 5 trainer.
Once I scored a basket that still makes me laugh.

No, but neither would a coach in League 4 ask for more money each 4 weeks. There would be promotions, in case the team's doing good, yes. But there won't a raise every 3-4 weeks. That's so unrealistic.
I understand your point, and you're right, it owuld not be ok if I could afford a Phil Jackson. On the other hand, my low level 4 coach would in 2 seasons ask me for the same money as Phil would ask me. And what I tried to explain is, it would make sense, in case the talents of the coach rise with his demands of money. So I can justify somehow to give him more money and stay with him, or to look for a cheaper coach again, because I would not be able to afford him.
Right now, you are somehow forced to fire the coach after a certain time because his performance would be absolutely not equivalent to what wage he asks for.
And by the way: Why take away the chance for coaches to get better? COaches get better, too. With every game, with every decision they learn. It seems just unfair to me. It gives me the image as if the staff I hire is a ruthless greedy pack of wolves, who just want a raise every week without improving their work (I know they don't, because their level doesn't change).
Normally staff should be the poles for the team so everything can function how it should, not a greedy moneyeating organization.

Those are good points.
However, you know how much your coach's salary is going to go up each week depending on what level he is. So, You can figure out exactly how much money he is going to cost you for a full season. So, you can look at like he is under a one season contract for x amount of dollars to be paid incrementally. Sort of like a baseball player who signs a seven year deal , making slightly more each season. Maybe if you looked at it like that it wouldn't make you so mad.

yes, but again:
there is a huge difference between asking for more money ONCE in a season and asking for more money all 3 weeks in a season. Like after 9 weeks as GM I would ask: "What's wrong with you, kid? You're taking drugs?"
Well however, this point with the staff just annoys me a little, because it seems kind of randomly made up and fetched from too far to...well why, as I said I still don't understand myself. ...to make all staff more expensive? I started with giving a wage of 2000 € for my level 2 doctor. Today he is asking me for almost 6000 per week. And when you go and check for other Level 2 doctors, because you think they might be cheaper, you'll see that their wages all start around 5500.
