Having a few old players isn't bad at all. spending hundreds of thousands of dollars every few seasons on 4-5 guys you have to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars to then replace is a vicious cycle that does people no favors.
I pretty much agree with you spending too much, but the market for cheap players has kinda dried up this late in the season (earlier on i found a ton of good players for half the price). The good news is the current player wont be declining for a long long time.

I don't agree, I still think that being relegated is a step in the wrong direction regardless... I think it's better to survive and slowly build arena like he has been doing, u never know which league ull end up, could be a tough league then u might be stuck there 2-3 seasons, who knows, I dont like the idea of relegating, especially if u can survive...

ya, exactly, no good cheap players out there now... the cheap players should pop up again close to POs, so no rush there...

well there are a few if you take it from another angle. For example, he has a 2.8k salary PG. Sometimes salary is a bit misleading, but based on pure results in this case i can say that they are not. at 11pm central time tonight, there is a 4k PG out there for 15,000 that has issues with free throws, but would put his current PG out of a job. I'd be surprised if that same guy climbs over 25k. before that even, there will be a small forward that can fill in at PG or he can take his new guy and place him at Pg for now. That player because of his age probably costs 50k. There are a handful of veterans overnight that he can buy outright for 50-60k there. fast forward to a decent time zone (11 central time) and there are a handful of SG's that are available that have enough to be a good PG for tough that wont cost more than 50k a piece.
From a pure upgrade standpoint, he should quite easily land a 30-50k TL cost PG that gives him a 5th or 6th man type for his lineup. Once he gets that, he should easily be safe from relegation, and can continue building a stack of cash. Next year a week or two in it's not that out of the question that he has 400-500k to spend on one big name or two reasonable players to push towards that D.III birth in say season 23.

@cometahalley: Well you learned greatly from BB my friend, congrats!
yeah relegating is awful I hear. Fans leave, your arena is mostly just players and coaches, and the fans will hate you until you make it to the finals, thats when they'll be running back over there. But still, relegating is a bad idea. What if I end up in League let's say, V.21? That's automatically gonna cost me a couple of season due to high competition right now. And yeah relegating would mean having to sell everyone, (Stillfried, Huaien) and would mean doing a complete blowup and start building with just Sol and Vasko. Soo yeah that's the bad part
@fury: Well thanks man! Hopefully I can get that guy and wouldn't have to deal with nothing, just bank the cash in there! so yeah and relegating would mean getting a beast draft pick. So those are the goods..........and you get another season to build the crap outta arena.
Seriously I have to agree with Cometahalley right here. I would never want to relegate back to D5. EVER. It's so unpredictable down there :-/
Yeah I will be going for (after I complete my half roster) 10k arena by the end of the season and BOOM! when I win I'll be bringing in a crap load of cash that will make it easy for me to buy a Big Name 26 yo guy..........Yeah after I get my arena to 10k hold your horses guys!
then after that is mystery........

I always put a bid in around now for a guy if i really want him and have room for him. I only win it about 20% of the time, but if i can get every 5th guy for that price why not try.
More importantly, tomorrow is Saturday. hopefully he doesn't have school on the weekend.
