This is weak, where's the yeah talk? I wouldn't let the Clogs score that much on me. Where's the rocket science d that held me to unreasonably low scoring?

Yes, you'd definitely hold me under 67 points, if it was Feburary 2013 again (or, I suppose, another meaningless end of season scrimmage). I'd be more worried about you repeating that feat if you hadn't needed to have the 25 point rock and jock bucket drop down to have a chance to send our last league game into OT.

Fortunately, the outside scoring ratings aren't affected by HCA or effort, so it would have been a sensational in any event assuming the same minutes and gameshapes, etc.

just the ratings from a display purpose, or does this mean good outside shooting is very valuable?

If very good outside shooting was very valuable, I wouldn't be about the only person in the game trying it. ;)

But yeah, it's the display ratings - according to coachparrot, effort doesn't actually change the displayed ratings at all, while the enthusiasm level and HCA both affect only defense and rebounding ratings. So without changes in GS or minutes played, outside scoring, inside scoring and offensive flow will be the same home or away, CT or TIE, max enthusiasm or min.

I think that's why they came up with the matchup rating (points per 100 shot), which is more representative of the actual skill level of the players and gameshape, offense being run, etc. It's also a very good indicator of how the game went, except for the 75% of the time it's not. When I was almost exclusively running Princeton back in the days when Deronimo was in this league, I routinely would have games where I'd have a SG reported as being at 90 or more PP100 and yet see stat lines like 4-18 (2-7). Of course, Princeton also occasionally had the games where he'd have the same PP100 but go something like, say, 18-33 (9-17) against the team that originally drafted him.

Point being, outside offenses are very erratic. Patient is erratic too - same SG one season in a finals game was playing at C going against a guy from Dog River who I know had pretty much no OD, was at 109.5 PP100, and was 0-11 (0-2) after 36 minutes. Thankfully, that's not a season I count as having choked on promoting to the NBBA- Pappy's team was just much better - but the amount of sense the game makes sometimes is ludicrous. The last three seasons my team has shot a higher percentage from beyond the arc than inside it, but still won't take even 25% of their shots from three. It's like you take the current Warriors team, brainwash them into thinking their the 90s Knicks, and that's the state of BB right now.

Game 3 would have been fun - I was going to run my 1-3-1/Princeton that I occasionally run in the PL. But we didn't quite get there and wouldn't have deserved to win it if we did. Good luck back in II.

Mad props to rocket for blasting thru in two seasons, best of luck in the show. to those heading back down the line godspeed making it back. We have a little bit of an issue developing as walker is still AWOL and if my math is correct they may not bot until a week from this monday, though if this week is the week for botification it will be someone in IV's good fortune.

And now to close the books on another season.....your one shining moment.

thanks all.
surprised the clogs did not CT, as would have definitely loss game 2.
very good teams here and was just lucky.
pretty sure my team is not DII ready so hopefully I can get a good pick-up along the way - may be back here soon. :)

Don't come back! ;)

If there were still attendance money for game 3, I might have considered the CT given that my chances to win the tiebreaker were low. As it stood, I pretty much had to maximize my chance (small though it was) of winning the series, and that meant trying to bank all the enthusiasm I could for game 3 and then hoping for a hot shooting game with the Princeton Mess o' Doom(tm).

If nothing else, I get further proof for my theory that the game just doesn't care about how good or bad your players' skills are or how they are performing when figuring out the shot distribution. In no world whatsoever would a team shooting a higher percentage from 3 than 2 keep forcing jumpers and drives instead of jacking up more threes.

did not know there is not more attendance money for game 3 - really need to start reading the news post more i guess...
I also got only 150K for winning - i thought promotion bonus used to be $1m - did this change as well?

I should have let you know that before the series, and maybe you'd have thrown it. ;)

But what they did is replaced the third game revenue with a bonus to the teams in the Finals - the winning team in III gets 150k, the losing team gets 75k. The promotion bonus should come soon, and from III to II is now $750k (which, I think, is higher than it used to be but I don't remember for sure).
