Thanks Macca for the congrats post, Lemon too as I'd not got around to responding to that one last round.
Neither were pretty ways to win basketball, 29-85 on FGs in the quarter final is ugly but my defence won that one.
I wasn't confident going into the semi. I've beaten LIDL a few times with similar tactics recently (Osman used to cause me issues in m2m so zoning was a good way to slow him down) but that was before the addition of Adcock and I wasn't sure how I was gonna stop him and Szubert together. I considered the inside box but didn't wanna leave the other one "unguarded". What I really wanted to do was a 1-2-2 zone but that option doesn't exist! What I came up with just about did enough...Tough game to watch though, close most of the way and the Tallfellas made something of a habit of 4th quarter comebacks last season. I was worried...
Yesterday was just "smashmouth basketball", if that's even a thing. 18 ORs and 44 FT attempts...There was at least 8 fouls each in the first quarter, over 18 total and 2 injuries as well...whoever was coming out of it was coming out bruised. Luckily Lelarge isn't injured for me this week while Mojak is (sorry Mac. season officially over with that injury + Osman sale or still a small hope of challenging?)
Lelarge did end up on 23 minutes for the week though as I'd planned 48 yesterday. It also forced Anderson into playing SF rather than backup SG, so he only ended up on only 39 training minutes...Minutes ended up pretty poor overall, 4 on 78-79 mins, and two on 43-44. So all of that combined meant I did actually train GS. I don't often if at all, but hey I also don't get to a cup final every year...
Good luck to you tuf12/Keepmugs. I do like that a new(er) team is gonna win either way, we've had too much of this Tide of Fire/Tallfellas domination recently (party)
I may have Frlin's skills saved somewhere...now I just need to work out where he's gonna play and how to stop him XD
