Taiwan scores 115 points with a true shooting percentage of 62%, including a 34-17 fourth quarter.

I give up trying to understand this bloody game...

Any deficiencies in the offence would not explain why our defence was so shite. They're different sides of the ball. And in any case, we may have struggled at the three point line, but our overall shooting was fine, and when you score 92 points on a true shooting of 54%, you usually expect to win or at least keep the game close considering the slow pace of this game and how difficult it can be to score at times in this game's engine in particular. Especially against NT quality defence.

The PF is more of an inside SF, so his outside skills are better than you might have credited him for, but yes, that would explain the three point struggles. If anything however, he should've helped us defend Taiwan better since Taiwan's strategy was to pound it inside all game and we had a third defender with good ID in the starting five.

And three of the best Point Guards in the country coughed the ball up a combined eight times, whilst the entire Taiwan team only gave it up three times despite a lower offensive flow rating...

I can't reveal specific skill-sets as I don't want to be giving other teams the psychological advantage of knowing just how good our team might be. However I will say that another stupid thing about this result is that our best interior defender on paper (the starting PF) had his direct match-up score 40 points like he wasn't even there. Meanwhile at C, Taiwan's C with a higher salary than the PF goes 2-10 against someone who can defend, but is there more for his offensive capabilities than his defensive stops.

the game engine is broken
all else equal, teams with more talent should win...didn't happen here

If I counted correctly, three point shots contested by your "PG" went in at a 7-15 clip. Even with a 3-2 zone, you had less total OD than your opponent had outside scoring despite the double GDP, and it certainly looks like your trainee was a hole in the zone. I know we've all struggled with just how dominant outside shooting has become, but I think in this case it's more of the bad matchup than the normal outside shooting dominance or bad luck.
