All I am saying is that the tournament should be seeded. The highest ranked team should play the lowest ranked team; the #2 ranked team should play the second lowest ranked. It works that way in any other tournament. As it sits now you could conceivably have the #1 and #2 teams in all of BB meet early in the tournament based upon the "luck of the draw"

I'm sure the money for winning tournament games is intended as a bonus. Not a right.

Nobody ever said it was a right. This is a thread for suggestions about how to make the game better. I am merely pointing out that teams are being penalized by bad cup draws, which also have an effect on fan support, instead of doing the logical thing and seeding the tournament based on team strength.

Not to dis agree but at same time, If it was seeded lower team would never win past the second round. The higher league seed would be right on them, every single time.

Isn't that how tournaments and competitions are supposed to work?

I agree too, I like the way it is, if you're lucky you can get past some teams and get some money, if you're not, well, at least you don't have to worry about game shape anymore :)

For example, in my first season I won first 4 rounds, with the scrubs team. And this year, I got a first div team in the second round. He has one player with 180k salary, while my whole team is 144k LOL I hope he'll ditch the cup, to focus on the league :)

But should you really have to depend on luck when there are bot teams playing other bot teams?

The thing about random draws is that they are, by nature, random - I drew the same division II team in the first couple of rounds two of my first four seasons here. But the league and tournament structure seem to be based quite strongly on England's football/soccer structure (which is common in Europe, in fact). Leagues with promotion / relegation, and a national tournament (FA Cup) with completely random draws and which allows all teams in the nation (at least, in the first 10 levels of play) to enter. Of course, the FA Cup does give higher level teams byes into later rounds, so there are a lot of qualifying rounds first with the extreme low level teams before the bigger clubs start showing up, but in theory the top two teams in the game could play each other well before the finals.

I understand what you are getting at with the soccer comparison, but the English soccer structure doesn't have bot teams playing each other at the expense of human controlled teams.

Like I said before, if it didn't have a monetary component it wouldn't be a problem. The tournament has an effect on overall fan support which influences attendance as well as the 50k purse for winning each game.

So you prefer to take on a Div II side in round 1? I do not see how it will be good for anyone other then the top level sides to do the draw seeded.

No, because there are no bot teams in England, but other than having teams from different levels entering the tournament at different times and having the very early qualifying rounds drawn with geographic constraints (no need for ninth-level teams to travel cross country), the draw is entirely random. There are often times where low level teams are facing off while higher level teams are facing off. And they, like BB, have prize money awarded to the winners which varies based on each round.

In short, the whole idea of a seeded tournament is fine - HT uses that - but a completely random tournament is fun too and definitely has precedent in the real sporting world.
