However, there is a substantial long-term bonus associated with your key player having been drafted by your own team, so it's well worth the investment in the long term if you can pull it off.
Does this also apply to the players you started with? Because my best player is one of the players I started with. This is 44,5 seasons ago, and I don't see the big effect on merchandise you are talking about. I also have one drafted player that are in development and have performed among the best lately, but I don't see that either.
