I would like that SB would be removed from the game!

I would like that steals removed from the game, it makes also no sense and maybe height of the players too - that would be nice... the game should be more clearly and not so profoundly :-)

uhm, I think there is a small misunderstanding here. If I wanted to have sex with Mutombo I wouldn't play this game but other pervert games on the net.

And to the guys who want Shotblocking away from this game:

Shotblocking belongs to Basketball as stealing, dribbling and shooting does. People who ask for the benefit of their team to "diminish" shotblocking have either never played ball, or are those kind of players who get blocked ten times per game and therefore hate that word S H O T B L O C K. But that's just your problem, guys, you can not change or define a sport new, just because you don't like it. I still don't get your point: If you are happy with your players, then keep them. If you want to sell them, you seem not to be happy with them right? I would say: change your tactics, train your players and win some games. Let the Shotblockers block you or defend yourself, but don't ask to ban an attribute that belongs to the game.

If you don't like basketball, go and play soccer manager games. there you won't get blocked and there are different rules. Ok?

chill mate! chill!

go grab a cold can of pepsi or coke :D

well SB is a specific skill compare to others like jump shot or inside shot it can a fade away, it can be a dunk or a hook shot etc.

well if we eliminate this SB as trainable, we need to come up with something else . . . . we just cant take away something without something to patch it up or else they got only 3 skills to train :D

actually SB though how much strong it is but if your opponents skills is also better then its more likely your bothering his shot than making much progress in blocking!

im not sure here though just my thoughts :D

Sorry if i missed something, but:

isn´t it possible, that SB is linked maybe to ID? And for that reason, it´s a little like an "invisible" skill, like HN and DV?

What i want to say: I never read during a game something in regard to Handling or Diving (like: "wonderful dribbling from X" or "Amazing ball-controll from Y") but still i feel that many skills (like JS or IS) are only pretty good in combination with these two.

Couldn´t it be possible, that this is the same with SB? That for example, even if someones throw is not blocked, this throw is not as good against a good blocker than against a bad one? And for that reason, SB is closed linked to ID?

And if this is not the case, maybe we should better discuss to link it to other skills, then rather eliminate it, as just 3 "pure" Inside Skills would remain.

P.S.: GM-Lord of Doom wrote:
I spend a few weeks on block training, and noticed pops in inside defence and rebounding more then in blocking. It might be coincidence, and I need to gather more info on it, but it might be that the 'seconday' trainingskills with the blockingtraining, aren't as 'secondary' as secondaries in other trainingtypes. If this is the case the blockingtraining might be a good way to train these 3 inside skills in a prety good way.

If it is too difficult to link it to other Skills, maybe it could be done in training, that the 2nd training of SB (ID,RB) needs shorter time?

I'm sure about this. I have seen players that are much worse than my Centers and they wage a lot more, how can that be posible? I know the answer.

The SB are considered as a primary skill, maybe a bit less compared with inside defense for example, but is a primary skill. Whats the problem? It is possible to say that the game understands that having 8 in SB would be for example a 6 or a 7 on inside defense. Then if we replace the defense of the Center with the SB, The player should wage a bit less than before. How can SB affect on players wage? Only we must do the previous procedure but bearing in mind that this time the SB skill is 1. Without doubts there is a great difference because if the player have 1 in SB and we replace it with the inside defense, he would be a great player on inside scoring, rebounds and SB. But if we reason, a player who is very good at these 3 skills but has only 1 in Defense, do you believe that the player could charge very much?

I hope i'm clear.
And sorry for my bad english :)

One of the USA NT players has 9 in shotblocking, and has a salary of between $40K and $50K

Are you telling me that $20K-$30K of that $40K-$50K is from shotblocking alone?

I'd be amazed. BB-Charles even said that with multiskills the wages would actually be lower than when a player is briliant in 1 or a few skills.

So I doubt a 4 times (ID,IS,REB and SB) strong (level 8) would ask more wage then a 2 times level 10 (IS,REB), 1 time level 11 (ID) and 1 time level 1 (SB)...

And if you take a player with 1 level 15 (eg IS) and 2 times level 8 (like REB and ID) and 1 time level 1 (SB), he will ask more wage still!

I might doubt between the first 2 players, but eventually go for the first to play in my team, the third here has no change at all to get chosen by me...

They are not your friends; they dispise you. I am the only one you can count on. Trust me.

I wouldn't say that $20K-$30K is for SB. I would say that shotblocking affect no more than $20K and no less than $10K(if the Player has a 1 in SB). In english I cant explain this very well but I have the evidence to support my opinion.

In fact, I have proved this with my own players and its a fact that SB affects very much on wages...
