Great win, great write up. Great job all round.

On the subject of shot blocking, I don't think really when I was NT coach or since I've said enough about our need for more.

There's very little to be done about our current players. I'd like to think my constant moaning on the subject actually convinced Vecx to give Innes and Mac at least some SB. I hope he doesn't mind me saying not as much as I would have liked. However for the future I would like to say something about it.

I don't want to cause another storm on the forum, one this week is enough, but IN MY OPINION, and that's all it is, an opinion, PFs and especially Cs must have SB. And when I say they must have it, ideally, SB should AT LEAST be equal to ID.

I added what I could without killing their salaries or making them cap too soon. Looking back id have changed their training a bit. But honestly to do a C and PF together from the two I think Mac would have suffered badly and ended up a much less rounded player as he was always playing second fiddle training to Innes' requirements.

PS - love the 'Innesational'

I wasn't criticising your training. I wouldn't dare as I think I've said before I don't really rate myself as one of the better trainers. Obviously you, Mikramus, the two Dogs and others are ahead of me in that regard.

And of course, as I'm currently training an NT prospect, or looking to do so in the near term, its a bit hypocritical of me to call on others to train the way I say I would.

However, I do have knowledge of the NT, and a long record of having a strong defence, so I feel I can speak with at least some authority on the subject. And as you know, I've always been an advocate of SB. (More quietly in the past since I didn't especially mind being the only one who looked for it.)

As a fellow coach of the NT, i would also say that the team overall needed more SB to be more effective with inside defence. However as Vecx said....his two with more SB would have them at completely unsustainable salaries probably lol

Only if you add the SB to what they alreaady have. Had it been trained instead of something else of course they'd have actually had lower salaries.

So for people training now, training SB makes a better player and a more economical one. Win, win.
