At what point does a "game" and fun "simulator" turn into a job requiring cold calling, financial planning, CEO board meetings, analytics, etc etc etc.

Sounds like a ton of work. May coaches assume that work running for position, giving speeches, answering forums etc.

But as a owner who just writes a check and sets a lineup and that's it.... That sounds like a lot more commitment then they signed up for purchasing a player.

I only guess at how long before people call for things like "managers proven in past not to manage NT/u21 players game shapes should be exempt from being able to buy such players"

The WR vs salary thing has already been brought up and the salary thing was already instituted to begin with to reduce bankruptcies and cheating and etc.

Why are we so REactive to problems instead of PROactive

Well, if it is boring as hell, that says something about your community. It differs for each country. If you feel that you are only getting criticized (fairly or unfairly), maybe you should try a different approach in involving your community.

Don't get me wrong, but most of the suggestions you are doing, are related to problems you are facing and cannot solve at this point. Instead of trying to advocate certain changes, try to find a solution for your problems by changing things you can influence. You'll have more success that way.

We have a small community, just like Austria, but that doesn't seem to stop us from having a lively discussion about the NT from time to time. I am not judging you as a manager, but it helped our community tremendously by inviting people to participate in a dialogue. Give it a try. Maybe people will get more excited and their knowledge of the game will increase, resulting in better players and GS for your NT. Heck, maybe certain views will help you increase your skills as a manager. We can all learn.

I second this opinion. And since the only response to it was that 120 users was different from the 60 users in Austria and therefor the whole post was apparently ignored I felt I might just as well quote it again.

As an NT coach I appreciate the gameshape as part of the game. For the Dutch NT we also have some key players that are pretty important in gameshape but at the same time gameshape can make a difference in our advantage against bigger countries. If gameshape was permanently the same it would become even harder to take advantage of mismatches in specific positions.
