The algorithm seems to be very skewed. Josh Floyd (my former draftee) should not have been the MVP either as his team wasn't competitive enough. Medrono should have really gotten the award. He carried that team to the playoffs.

All-Stars and MVPs are not necessarily the best players but the players who put up the best numbers.

Around here a player can play for a last place team and still be MVP if he puts up big offensive numbers like Josh Floyd did. The game engine does not look at how a player's team performs. If Floyd was still here he would get my vote because of his MVP numbers and the value to his team. Floyd led the league in both scoring and in steals, was third in assists, and fifth in player efficiency.

As far as value to his team it would be Joe Medrano for his contribution to a team that tanked most of the season. Medrano was the league's leading rebounder, second in player efficiency, and third in blocks. He did not get much help from his teammates because their good players were sold early in the season for $4.4 million.

Matteo Salatino is a fine All-Star center who had the highest player efficiency in the league, was fourth in blocks, and fifth in rebounding.

What I don't understand is how did Juri Paju finish second and Astur Sits fourth while Joe Medrano did not get a single vote for MVP.

Rhinos made it out of here in only 4 seasons. It was only the 2nd time in the last 8 seasons that the champion came from the Big 8. With a payroll of $248k Rhinos had to win now to be able to afford their payroll. Their only problem is that they have a 9,500 arena that is too small by Div III standards.

Too many teams were winning championships with huge last minute payrolls that Buzzerbeater created an over-extension tax.

We have a salary floor but not a salary cap. Our over-extension tax is based on negative income without regard to salaries. Our league average is negative income which means that teams can be penalized for losing money without having a large payroll.

The following teams have large arenas with low payrolls that are probably making more money than if they got promoted to Div III:

Indianapolis Icers - 35,050 arena, $111,679 payroll
Sioux Falls Rough Riders – 22,925 arena, $80,269 payroll
Hardmoney Outlaws – 20.795 arena, $59,509 payroll
Crocodillians – 14,042 arena, $68,118 payroll
Los Angeles Lords – 15,315 arena, $61,144 payroll before their late spending spree
